From: Sascha😻
Good morning, Schatz. Just wanted to make sure you're not forgetting about our date😉Y/N chuckled slightly as she read the message from her boyfriend; the two of them had just been together for a few weeks, so she was still a bit nervous when it came to going out with him.
Today, he had asked her to meet him at the Monte Carlo Country Club, where the Monte Carlo Masters were being held at the moment. She didn't know a lot about tennis, so she hoped the date Alexander had planned had nothing do to with it.
Shrugging her shoulders after taking one last look into the mirror and straightening her dress for what felt like the hundredth time, Y/N finally walked out of her small apartment and made her way towards the country club, which wasn't too far away.
As she arrived, she saw thousands of fans standing there, waiting for the matches to start. A frown found its way onto her lips since she wasn't sure where Alex would wait for her.
Checking the text he had sent her a few days ago again, she saw that coordinates were attached to it and quickly followed the way google maps pointed out for her.
It seemed like she was being lead to the back of the courts, but somehow, her boyfriend was nowhere in sight. Just as she had decided to call him, two arms were wrapped around her waist and she looked around to see Alex smiling at her, his eyes covered by sunglasses and his hair hidden under a cap.
"Why are you walking around like that?" She asked, giggling slightly after placing a quick kiss on his lips.
Alexander nervously scratched the back of his neck, a low chuckle leaving his lips. "Don't you like my outfit?"
His statement caused her to laugh even more before playfully punching his arm, resulting in him acting as if it had actually hurt.
"What are your plans for today, idiot?" She questioned after a short while of silence, in which she had just enjoyed the sun that was shining down on them, while he seemed to become more nervous by the second.
"Well," He started, gesturing for the courts behind him, "I thought we could watch some tennis."
Y/N raised her eyebrows at his behavior, but continued smiling nevertheless. "Everything's fine as long as I'm with you."
Alexander smiled right back at her as he started guiding her towards an entrance at the back, causing her eyes to go wide.
"What are we doing? Are we sneaking in?" She asked, abruptly stopping and turning around to look at her boyfriend, who tightly held her hand in his.
He bit his lip and started running his hand through his hair in an attempt to come up with something to tell her that didn't sound like a complete lie. In this moment, he truly regretted not telling her about his profession earlier.
"Of course not," He replied, placing a quick kiss on her cheek, "but I won VIP-tickets, so we can use this entrance."
She seemed slightly suspicious as she looked up at him, but she -much to his pleasure- decided to not question it any further.
About half an hour later, Y/N was seated right beside the court, while Alexander wanted to get something to drink for the two of them. He had already been gone for quite some time, but she assumed that he just had to wait in a queue.
"And now please welcome on court; Diego Schwartzmann and Alexander Zverev!" Y/N's head immediately snapped up as she heard the names, her eyebrows knitted together in confusion.
Looking up, she actually saw her boyfriend walking onto the court, a bag hanging loosely on his shoulders and his eyes fixated on her with a nervous smile playing on his lips.
It felt like she was getting more and more confused by the second as she watched him getting a tennis racket out of the back and starting the warm up with his opponent.
She quickly got her phone out of her pocket and searched for him in the internet, immediately being greeted with headlines like 'Germany's number one, Alexander Zverev, has reached the quarterfinal of the Monte Carlo Masters'.
Thousands of thoughts were running through her mind at the same time, but that was soon disturbed as she heard someone beside her chuckling.
"You must be Y/N," That someone stated, smirking down at her, while stretching out his hand, "I'm Mischa, Sascha's brother."
"So, maybe you can tell me what's going on."
"Well, I guess my brother forgot to mention that he is a professional tennis player, didn't he?"
"Seems like it."
"He can be an idiot sometimes," Mischa said, shaking his head in amusement, "but you shouldn't be mad at him. He told me a lot about you and I know that he was just too nervous to tell you about it, therefore he decided to show you."
Y/N nodded at him, but she still had to think about his words, it would have been nice to know that her boyfriend was a famous tennis player after all.
Sighing, she turned her attention towards the match again, while Mischa started explained the rules to her and after some time, she actually started to enjoy it.
"Game, set, match, Zverev!" Was echoing around the court about an hour later, causing Y/N to raise to her feet and applaud loudly, a huge smile visible on her lips.
Although she still would have preferred for him to tell her about his profession, she was happy she got to see him playing and smiled at the thought of being able to do that more often.
"Congratulations on the win, Alexander!" An interviewer said, walking towards him and quickly patting his back, but the German's attention was focused on Y/N.
"Thank you."
"How do you feel?"
"It was a great match and I'm very excited for the semifinal."
"You're box is quite full today, how important is the support of your friends and family for you?"
"I know I would be nowhere without them, their support means the world to me," He started, his eyes searching for Y/N's y/e/c ones, "And I'm especially happy that my girlfriend, Y/N, was able to watch me for the first time. Thank you for staying and I'm sorry for not telling you about this earlier, but I'm a pro."
The audience erupted into laughter at his statement, while the German's girlfriend had to blush slightly.
"Well, that's certainly true. Thanks for your interview and good luck in the next round," The interviewer ended, quickly shaking his hand before gesturing for him to go over to his girlfriend.
Without hesitating, the tennis player jogged over to her and jumped over the barricade.
"I'm sorr-," He started, but was cut off as a soft pair of lips met his and arms were wrapped around his neck.
"It's alright."
"Really?"
Nodding, Y/N brushed her hand through his hair, causing his smile to widen.
"I really enjoyed watching you play and your brother even explained some rules to me," She stated as he threw his arms around her waist and pulled her closer.
"Does that mean you'll watch me play more often from now on?"
"I will, but only on one condition; no more secretes."
Alex chuckled at her words before nodding his head with a smirk.
"Alright, although that'll ruin the fun."
She rolled his eyes, playfully slapping his arm.
"You know what, sweetheart, I think you're my good luck charm." Y/N couldn't hide the huge smile on her lips as Alexander leaned in to kiss her again.
"And you're my idiot."
