Y/N quietly cursed under her breath as the referee confirmed her assumption; the rain pouring down on the center court in London was forcing them to delay the match.
Running a hand through her y/h/c hair, she walked into the players' area to wait until she could play.
It was the first time playing in a semifinal of a Grand Slam for Y/N, meaning she was nervous anyway, but the delay only caused her to worry even more.
Huffing slightly, she put her head in her hands after taking a deep breath.
"I'll be alright," She told herself, repeatedly tapping her foot on the ground.
"Hey," She suddenly heard someone say, which made her look up immediately to see Alexander Zverev standing in front of her.
The two of them hadn't had spoken to each other before, but she know exactly who he was and she admired his way of playing.
"Are you okay?" The German questioned, taking a seat beside Y/N and smiling down at her.
"Oh," She breathed out, forcing herself to smile a little as well, "I'm fine, thanks."
Alex chuckled slightly, while nodding his head. "You're Y/N, right? I've seen you playing in the quarterfinals, you were amazing."
"Yes, I am," She replied, blushing slightly at his words, "Thank you, Alexander. I've seen you playing, too; it was incredible. This definitely is your best year so far."
"Thanks, but you can call me Alex or Sascha," He answered, scratching the back of his neck, "I guess your match was delayed because of the rain, too, right?"
"Yes," Y/N stated, sighing in frustration, "I hate these delays."
Alex chuckled again, causing her to raise an eyebrow. "How can you be so calm? This is your first semifinal at a Grand Slam, too, isn't it?"
The German shrugged his shoulders with a smirk. "Getting frustrated won't help me to give my best later on and continue to believe in myself."
"Well," The girl next to him said, a real smile finally visible on her lips, "that's true."
He was about to answer her, but right in this moment someone came up to Y/N.
"The rain has stopped, Y/N. You can play now," He said, while her eyes went wide.
"Calm down, Y/N. You'll do great," Sascha stated as he saw the panic in her eyes, "I believe in you."
"Thank you," She whispered, taking him by surprise when she threw her arms around him in a hug.
"Good luck for your match," She said before turning around and walking onto the court, euphoria running threw her veins as Alex' words repeatedly ran through her mind.

"I told you you'd win," Alexander smiled brightly at Y/N, when they met again in the players' area about three hours later, both of them now Wimbledon finalists.
"I only won because of you," She stated, making his eyes go wide as she ran a hand through her hair, "You made me calm down and believe in myself."
"Oh...," The German started, but she cut him off.
"How can I make this up to you?" She questioned, her eyes lightning up even more with every second.
"Maybe," He said, nervously looking down at the ground, "you could go on a date with me."
Y/N smile went even wider as she realized what he had said. "Of course," She exclaimed before he pulled her into another quick hug.
"Are you free right now or do you have any appointments?" He asked, smirking down at her.
"I have all the time in the world," She answered, chuckling slightly as he immediately took her hand, guiding her out of the players' area.
She had no idea where the two of them were going, but about ten minutes later she found herself on a restaurant's balcony with a beautiful view over London and the stars shining down at her and Alexander.
"It's so beautiful up here," She whispered, glancing up at the sky before looking directly into his eyes, "You're amazing, Sascha."
"Not as amazing as you," He replied, causing her heart to beat faster in her chest, "I know we've just met today, but you are fascinating me, Y/N."
The female tennis player couldn't help, but smile even brighter at his words.
Without thinking about it twice, she took his hand before leaning in to place her lips on top of his.
A few moments later, the two broke apart again, starring deeply into each other's eyes.
"Will you be my girlfriend, Y/N?" Alex asked after placing his hand on her cheek.
Nodding her head, she leaned in to kiss him again, both of their eyes shining as bright as the stars above them.
