Anniversary ~ Dominic Thiem

"I'm so sorry I can't be with you tomorrow on our three year anniversary, Schatz," Dominic mumbled into the phone before sighing deeply.

"Don't worry, Dominic; it's alright. You have a very important match on Monday and need to train," Y/N replied, trying her best to hide her disappointment.

Of course, she could understand that her boyfriend's schedule was busy and that the next match was a very important one for him, but somehow, she had still hoped that he would be able to make it to Austria on his match-free day to celebrate their anniversary with her.

"I don't want you to feel like you aren't my number one priority...," The tennis player started, but she cut him off.

"It's fine, really. We'll skype and talk on the phone," She stated, running a hand through her y/h/c hair.

"I'll make it up to you as soon as I'm home again, Y/N, I promise," He answered, making a small smile form on her lips.

"I'm already looking forward to that day," She said, her eyes lightening up at the thought of Dominic finally coming home again.

"I'm going to make it unforgettable," He assured his girlfriend before taking a look at his watch, "I think I need to go now."

"Okay, we'll talk tomorrow," She answered, huffing quietly.

"Alright, Schatz. Don't forget that I love you."

The next day, Y/N was woken up by the sun shining brightly through her window. A smile found it's way onto her lips, but it was replaced with a frown as soon as she saw that the bed beside her was empty.

After sighing slightly, she looked at her phone and the smile was back on her lips as soon as she saw a message from Dominic;

From: Dominic💞

Good morning, beautiful! I wish you a very happy anniversary, my love and hope that you'll enjoy your day, even though I'm not there.
However, I want to thank you for everything, truly everything. You have lightened up my life so much in the last three years and I hope that you'll continue to do so for the rest of your life.
I love you with all my heart, Y/N❤

Some tears formed in her eyes as she read his beautiful words.

"He's such a cutie," She mumbled quietly to herself before typing in a reply.

Since she had to spend their anniversary alone this year, she didn't have anything planned for the day and just decided to relax a bit.

The young girl tried calling her boyfriend a few times, but much to her disappointment he never picked up.

She was slowly starting to get really worried about him and feared that he might was annoyed by her constant calls.

To clear her head, she quickly put on a jacket and left the apartment to take a little walk.

When she came back about one hour later, she was absolutely confused because she saw that the light was switched on in the apartment.

Trying her best to stay quiet, she slowly walked up the stairs and into her apartment, where a huge surprise was waiting for her.

After walking around for a bit, she finally walked towards the balcony and saw nobody else, but her lovely boyfriend standing there with a bouquet of her favorite flowers in his hands.

"Dominic!" She exclaimed, immediately running towards him before throwing her arms around him.

"What are you doing here?" She asked, a huge smile visible on her face.

"I'm celebrating my three year anniversary with my beautiful girlfriend," He replied, handing her the bouquet.

"Thank you," She mumbled, leaning forward to press a kiss to his cheek, "You're amazing."

"Not as amazing as you are, Y/N," He stated, looking directly into her eyes, while slowly leaning down to place his lips on top of hers.

"I love you so much, Dominic," She whispered as he softly put a hand on her cheek.

"And I love you even more," He replied, intertwining their hands before connecting their lips again.

"Forever."
