Y/n's POV
"Thanks, Jack. I've got to go, that bodyguard guy father hired is probably gone for the day." I waved at the Irishman, earning a smile and wave in return. "Bye then! Say hi to Marky for me!" He giggled. I laughed, pulling my hood up and sprinting back to the castle window. I clawed my way up the side of the wall clumsily, occasionally slipping and almost falling. I would just walk through the doors, but I don't want to sit through another lecture form father.
I huffed, rolling through the window and sitting in the middle of my room. I slipped my stuffs off, and chucked on a royal gown. Hoping father dismissed the protector person, I walked out quietly. I walked to the throne room, feeling like I was being stalked. I looked around, meeting nobody's gaze in return. I huffed, slumping into the throne beside my father's. "You the princess?" Someone's voice echoed in my ear. I shrieked, tumbling off the throne. "JEEZ, am I that ugly?" A white and red hooded figure joked.
I sat on the smooth, polished floor, unamused. "Who are you? Leave, now." I hissed, standing up and dusting myself off. "No can do, Ma'am. Kings orders." I heard the smirk in his voice. "So if my stupid father ordered you around, why can't I?" I whined. "You sound like a spoiled brat, lady." The hooded figure sighed. "Yeah, and you sound like... like a suck-up!" I yelped. "Mhmm.Yeah." He nodded at my pathetic insult.
I sat in his awkward silence for a few moments before beginning to head to my room. The stranger followed me silently. "What? You gonna follow me around like a lost puppy?" I hissed. He shrugged. "Orders are orders, I guess." He chuckled. I sighed, then thinking up an idea. I ran into my room and slammed the door in his face before he could say anything, locking it upon entering.
"Ha! You can't make it into my room!" I yelled at the door, running over to the window to lock it. I heard him sigh beyond the door, and saw it swing open harshly. He held a key in his hand, causing me to groan. He had full access to my room. Not that that's not making me uncomfortable or anything. "Since you're gonna be following me around mindlessly, tell me your name." I demanded. "... Call me Vanoss, and you are....?" He asked tiredly, tired of my shit.
"... Never had to tell anyone my name, I'd prefer to keep it that way." I looked away. "Then what shall I refer to you as, princess puff pastry?" He joked. "Precisely that! Maybe Princess Puff Pastry with SPRINKLES and... and icing the III!" I cried out. He chuckled. "Okay Princess Puff Pastry with Sprinkles and Icing the Third, wanna shorten that down?" He took in a deep breath. "... Fine. Call me Y/n and feel grateful for being the one of the only one's to know of my real name." I hissed. "Why don't you introduce yourself to more people? You have friends, don'tcha?" He asked. I shook my head. "My only friends are the castle and Jack, possibly Mark as well. Don't expect to be on that list." I muttered. "Who's Jack?" He questioned. "Why so many stupid questions? Drop it, Vanessa." I growled harshly.
"It's.... Nevermind." He sighed. "... So, you gonna follow me everywhere?" I questioned. "Yup." He nodded, pulling out a dagger and twirling it around in his fingers. "Even to the bathroom?" I raised an eyebrow, making his eyes widen. He happened to throw the dagger in the air, only to almost stab me with it. He grabbed it by the blade before it carved my face inside out.
"... Hey! You're bleeding!" I yelped, tearing the dagger out of Vanoss's grasp and examining his gloved hand. I heard him hiss as I slid the leather gloves off his hand harshly. I saw a large scar from the beginning of his thumb to the side of his pinkie finger. "Stay here, I'll get some alcohol and rags." I rushed into the side bathroom, searching the cupboards for some medical supplies. "I'm fine!" I heard him huff, but I wasn't going to budge.
I managed to find some rubbing alcohol and some paper towels, snatching them up and dampening a cloth with warm water before running back into my room. I ringed the damp cloth over his hand to wash away any dirt or blood and ignored the dampening of my sheets. I took some rubbing alcohol and rubbed it on the cut, earning Vanoss to tense up. I took st he paper towels and dried the hand before realising I don't have anything to dress the cut.
I dropped his hand and ran into the bathroom. I took some sterile gauze from the counter and ran back in, seeing that Vanoss was waiting for me patiently. I covered the cut and sighed, then shoving everything back into the cupboard. "Did I even do that correctly?" I sighed. "You wanted me to be erased from existence not to long ago, and not you're worrying about a cut?" He smirked. "Well, Mark always treated it as a big deal, and rushed around trying to cover it and such." I fumbled with the corner of my dress, now soaked in water and alcoholic substances.
"Well, that's most likely because you're a princess and people worry over you because your of a higher class." He explained. "But I don't get It! I should be treated like a normal person. Why am I special?" I huffed, exasperated. Sometimes I take being a princess for granted. "Well... your born of the royal blood? I don't know..." He shook his head.
"Okay. If you don't know, I don't either." I muttered. "Hey, did we bond over you talking about me following you into the toilet?" He joked. "Nnooooo... I refuse to bond with someone such as you." I reverted back to my fussy self. "... And I thought we could be friends." He huffed childishly. "Whatever." I muttered. "I'm going out, gonna take in the town I apparently rule over, but cannot venture into without a bodyguard." I sarcastically sighed.
"I guess you know that I have to follow you?" He sat up from the bed and put his glove back on. "Yeah, sure. I'm going to buy you better protective gear, seeing as your gloves didn't work." I took my money in a satchel and slid a shiny apple into it as well. "We're also gonna stop by the potion master, see if he's got anything in store today." I walked out the door, followed by Vanoss. "You expect me to care about this stuff?" He said, walking infront of me.
Boy, I'm going to just enjoy having him around.
.... Note the sarcasm.Yeah! I did it! Hope you enjoyed? I think? Why, I do hope you enjoyed.
