I'm so tired I don't even know
I'M LAYERS AND SORRY :(((((((
Y/n's POVI sat in the room, my father and I shared a tense staredown. I dared not fiddle with the loose seams of the dress, showing any signs of weakness, or intimidation. I sat calmly, a mature expression maintained. It was difficult, however, with Tyler and Mini sitting behind my father and making stupid faces at me, and Delirious stifling laughter in the corner of the room. My eye twitched in my maintained seriousness, and I somehow kept my cool for a time period of three seconds before I giggled slightly.
"...Anyway." My father coughed. I straightened my posture and wore a pokerface. Not a mask. Don't get the wrong idea. I swear it's just an emotion.
"We are here to discuss the... marriage arrangements." I hesitated, but maintained my calmnessness. "Of course. So...." He trailed off. We began discussing the area in which we were to be wed, when the day of the wedding took place and the food made. I liked the food part.
"May I ask who is to be the groom?" I raised an eyebrow. Father shook his head. "I'm afraid he wishes to be kept a secret. For now." He sighed. I narrowed my eyes. Author Chan got drunk. We all lived happily ever after.

(That didn't actually happen. I'm not of legal age to drink.)
I sighed, stepping out the front doors and into the crisp, cold air. Was it already winter? Time surely flys, doesn't it? I shivered, rubbing my arms. I looked up at the clouded sky, seeing no sun amongst the grey clouds. I squinted, watching the crows fly past.Someone came up behind me and tapped me. I twirled around, my h/c hair whipping me as I spun. I was met with blue eyes and a mask before stumbling backward, surprised at how close Delirious was. His eyes widened as he laughed insanely, grasping my arm and pulling me into his grasp.
(Realises this is a Vanoss x Reader, but goes with it anyway) I squeaked as he cradled me, before releasing me beside him. "You alright?" He chuckled, stuffing his hands inside his pockets. I sighed, nodding. "Fine. Uh, thanks." I muttered quietly. He smiled. "No problemo, princess." He cheered, hopping down the steps. "Oh! By the way, Vanoss is looking for you." He winked, walking away calmly.
I raised an eyebrow, but shrugged and began looking for Vanoss. I checked in my room, but he wasn't to be seen. I ran to the courtyard and to the dining hall, but no trace of the orange assassin was there, either. I found him in the library, flipping through books filled with spell casting and potions.
"Since when did you become a wizard?" I joked, seeing him snap his head in my direction. "O-oh! You're here." He breathed. I nodded slowly, confused. "... Yeah? Delirious said you were looking for me." I raised an eyebrow, tapping my foot. He yelped, stuffing the books in his satchel. I was now ultra-confused.
"You... alright?" I questioned, furrowing my brows in concern. He nodded, shoveling through his bag. He pulled out a f/c box, tied in a white ribbon. He handed it to me, and I took it carefully. I unwrapped the neat box and found a black, leathery box in my grasp. I looked at him, seeing him only edge me on. I shrugged. Opening it carefully to reveal a f/c butterfly and bee hybrid amulet of sorts, with graceful butterfly wings and a bee stinger. I gasped, confused but touched.
"Wh... What's this for?" I breathed, taken aback. "It's... metaphorical. I found it at an antique store and thought of you. Y'know, because you sting like a bee, but you have the grace of a butterfly." He smiled nervously. I felt my eyes tear up.
"I've never received something so heartwarming. Thank you." I hugged him tight, feeling him tense up. He slowly hugged me back, smiling brightly. "You're welcome." He laughed, releasing me. I slowly untangled him from my death hold of thanks and immediately scurried off to find a chain to hang it on, so I could drape it around my neck. I'll never take it off, I told myself.
I dug through the gold and silver necklaces in my jewellery box, but couldn't spot the right one. Just as I was about to give up, I noticed a glimmer in the corner of my eye. I stalked over to my dresser, seeing my box of treasures. I found the perfect chain sitting on top, clean of rust or faded paint. It was f/c, the metal morphed into swirls conjoined together to make something so enchanting. I hooked the amulet onto the chain and cheered silently, gently placing it around my neck.
I ran back out to Vanoss, deciding to show him, when I saw him speaking to my father. I discovered it would be best to leave them alone and walked into the courtyard, deciding to explore. I pondered what they could be talking about...
Vanoss's POV
I sighed. "But... what'll happen to me?" I was asking about the marriage of the prince and princess, clearly the perfect fairytale ending. It just didn't seem right to me. "You won't be needed once she has been wed. She has the prince to protect her through thick and thin, and you won't be necessary for her protection." He explained, stroking his (magnificent) beard.
"But what will I do to earn my rightful share of money?" I hissed. He shrugged. "Not my problem or concern." He smirked. I glared. "I'm staying by her side until her wedding, how about that?" I seethed. "I can live with that. You have... what, two months left with her? It's no use, if you ask me." He shrugged and left me standing in the hallway, broken.
I felt I'd be devastated if I were separated from Y/n, and I didn't know why. It seemed odd, the suddenly-formed attachment toward her. I pondered for a moment, and slowly drifted into my own thoughts. Thinking about her soft, silky h/c hair, her sparkling, glowing e/c eyes, her bright and bubbly smile, the thoughts sent shivers up my spine.
I shook the thought away. I was sure I couldn't form such an infatuation with such a spoilt, fussy, clumsy, cute, perfect little princess! I huffed, folding my arms and leaning on the wall. I tore my hood off and combed my hands through my dark hair.
Y/n's POV
I tumbled through my window again, tired and sweating. I was training for this first fighting lesson. Climbing, running around, improving my stance by song on the guards, you name it, I did it. I took my f/c assassin's cloak and stuffed it into my bag, alongside Vanoss's-- I mean, my new dagger, a scarf like Vanoss's and my hairbrush. Hey! It's called being hygienic, not a neat-freak!
Well, let's get ready for training!
Well, yes I know this is late and I've been offline for a while, but assessments and shit have been piling up in my locker and I decided to do them all this week, so sorry for the late upload, and I'll be back on schedule soon! Wait, I had a schedule?
