Y/n's POV
"Evan--" I began, but I was cut off by a deep, husk voice. "Greetings, Chōchinbi. Kawako. Ittan-Momen." He grinned. We had established that Evan was Chōchinbi, so who was Kawako, or Ittan-Momen?
"Who... are you?" I seethed. "Me? Oh, Kawako, don't you remember? I'm your dearest friend, Hachiman--" He began to twitch, the cross over his eye beginning to fade and change. "N-no. What?" He raised a brow. He looked to the Queen, and immediately his expression turned sour. Was he a corrupted elemental, too?
"Luke." May snarled, baring her pearl teeth. He smirked. Either way, he was our enemy. "Oh hey, May. Long time no see. Ready to begin the war?" He laughed. "Nevermind! You don't have a choice!" He cackled. In an instant, he drew his swords. I noticed the ground move and shift, and hands began to grasp her ankles. She screamed as more redskinned, horned demonic creatures burrowed their way into sunlight and began to destroy the castle. The guards rushed over, outnumbered yet stronger.
"Luke! Stop this!" She cried, as he swung his sword. It halted inches away from her pale neck. "And why? You caused this war, thinking everything should be cotton candy. We can't be as much of a goody two shoes as your world expects, we're hells creatures!" He cackled satanically.
She whimpered as the blade inched closer to her neck. I was frozen, bones stiff in fear. Luckily, Brock swooped in and kicked the swords out of his grasp, as they slid across the stone paths and landed near the doors. I snapped out of it, shaking my head and huffing as I pinned his cloak to the wall with my Shurikens. He stiffened as I inched closer, dragging my battle axe behind me.
"Don't even think about it." I growled as he attempted to shuffle closer to his swords. He shook his head, smiling stupidly. I cocked my head, confused before Evan tackled me in time for Luke to attempt to ram me with his sharp, curved horns. He tripped over us, groaning as he slid across the damp grass. The Queen rushed inside, in desperate need to look for... something.
Delirious, Wildcat and Mini rushed to the other demons, trying to fight them off. As one went down, two took its place.
Luke turned to us, as Evan helped me up. I pulled out more Shurikens and threw them, not expecting him to not dodge. They stabbed him in the chest and neck, as blood trickled down the wounds. I stumbled back as he fell infront of me, shocked. I didn't believe it was this easy to defeat him.
I was right, as the white chalky cross reappeared on his eye and he arose up again, as his corruption took hold. "Kawako, oh poor Kawako." He chuckled. His voice became deeper. "It's destiny. Haven't they shown you?" He grinned. Suddenly, I remembered the pictures. The motions, devastation, everything. He... he was the cloaked man, I was the water spirit and Evan was... the fire elemental.
I began to growl, dropping my weapons. No matter how much it takes, I won't let Evan die. I knew what Luke was expecting, so I couldn't just guide Evan out of the picture. I had another plan: act oblivious and blind to the situation until the last minute.
"Wh... who? And what?" I raised an eyebrow innocently. Luke shook his head, annoyed. "You should know. However, unlike most idiotic evil, I want give anything away. Anything to help you won't ever happen." He smiled sickeningly. I tried my best not to growl back at him.
"Whatever. Let's end this." I felt my energy come back as I drained the surroundings around me of nutrients and felt the energy gather in my palms. He lifted his hands, as I saw several throwing knives. Six, that he held. I felt Evan and Brock's presence behind me as we all began to dodge his attacks of fiery bliss and lava orbs. The area began to become heated, as I started to sweat. I absorbed any sweat or liquid around me and fired, blasting a knife out of his grip. Down to five shots.
He grinned, attempting to peg one at Evan. However, Evan quickly dodged. Brock threw a careless punch at Luke, sending a gust of wind and air to blow him over. Luke dropped another knife. Three more shots.
"And I thought I had bad aim." Evan joked. Luke snarled, as he carelessly shot hi last daggers toward me. I dodged two, and caught the other, snapping it over my knee. "Gonna have to try harder than that~" I purred, as I stalked over to him. He stumbled back, falling over and scurrying toward the wall. He was cornered. I felt something come over me as I began to throw harsh kicks, punches, stabs, everything at him. He curled up in a ball on the steamed ground. Evan rushed over before I did anything more I could regret, pulling me away.
I sighed, silently smiling. Still, it wasn't too hard. It was pretty easy, actually. Too easy. I hugged Evan, smiling gladly.
"That's over. I guess?" Brock hovered beside me. I noticed a wound in his shoulder. "Hey! You Okay?!" I gasped, looking at the wound. I must've misfired one of my Shurikens, as it was lodged inside his shoulder deeply. Blood didn't stop trailing down his arm.
"I'm fine, I can't feel it. And I kinda jumped infront of it, heh..." He rubbed the back of his neck, flustered. We all laughed. I hugged Evan tightly, never wanting to let go. I pecked him lightly on the cheek, as I swung my arms around his neck. We comfortingly stayed like that for a while, souls bound.
Unfortunately, it still had to end.
