Y/n's POV
I heard rustling of footsteps and clothing, and saw nothing but darkness. My breathing was steady, so I assumed I was still operating fine. I wondered for a moment, when will I wake up? I shook my head, in my mind. No, you will. Soon.... I thought to myself. I furrowed my eyebrows, trying to open my eyes. Soon, a bright light seeped through the gaps of my eyelids, but it wasn't enough. Even though my whole body ached, I wanted to wake up.
I squinted, and soon opened my eyes. Infront of me was a large, bright light, staring into my e/c eyes romantically. I scoffed, moving it out of my way. A sudden shock of pain erupted in my arm, and I flinched. I groaned, knocking on the wall. Maybe I can draw attention and ask where I was.
A man in a white coat walked in, with a sleek, black... thing around his neck. I had never seen anything like it before. "Hello, Mistress Y/n." He smiled amused at the pained expression I wore. Ha-ha, funny, doc. I glared, and nodded for him to go on. "You've been out for only a few hours, since Vanoss brought you here." He grinned.
My heart sped up, and I recalled every single movement that had happened, all a few hours ago. The crazed girl, Vanoss being almost slaughtered, his friends and himself saving me... it all rushed back to me. "HOW IS HE!?" I ignored the pain in my whole body, in which was intensifying with every movement I made.
"He is in the next room, most likely worrying about you all the same." He smirked, and I flared a deep red. Out of embarrassment. Nothing more.
"Can I go see--" My voice was cut off by the door being slammed down by a man covered in bandages. He had sleek, black hair, done up to a fo-hawk and dark eyes. He stared at me, panting, who, e doctors panicked behind him. "Y/n!" The, oh-so familiar voice cried out worriedly, climbing over the numerous beds and doctors on the floor, to squish my face.
I pouted, poking his hands away. He obliged, but stared at me, genuine concern in his eyes. "You do know I can see your face?" I raised an eyebrow. His dreamy, dark eyes widened in realisation as he groaned, pulling his hood over his features. I poked it off, smiling. "Stop it, you look good." I grinned sheepishly, earning a glare in response. "That's not why I wear the mask... but, whatever." He sighed. "You Okay?" He repeated. I nodded, laughing.
"I... uh, can we leave?" I asked the doctor behind me awkwardly. He nodded. "Yup, go now. Bye-bye!" He shoved us out, and I realised I was wearing one of the prissy pink dresses my father forces me into on every little occasion. I sighed. I'm definitely going to change out of this expensive, fancy, prissy pink, silky and uncomfortable dress.
"Well, I'm leaving!" I cheered, running away. He raised his hand to call for me, but rolled his chocolate eyes and followed me. I weaved around servants and maids, and finally made it to my room. I slipped inside, chucking off my dress, and unaware of the eyes baring into my back. I slipped on a regular, checkered f/c and white dress. I re-did my hair and smiled, seeing my reflection. I looked way healthier than the girl who I saw in the reflection of the haunting asylum.
"...Anyway!" Vanoss clasped his hands in the doorway, blushing awkwardly. "Your father wished to speak with you after you thanked my friends." He smirked. I pushed past him, brushing his shoulder with my own while making my way to the courtyard.
I stepped onto the lush grass, bare foot, and watched the grown men run around the field like children. I smiled as they laughed, as friends. I secretly longed for something like that, people I could be my true self around. Goofing off and being a fool with a group of non-judgmental people. Unfortunately, being a princess doesn't give you these things.
I was knocked out of my train of thoughts as one of the boys pointed toward me, yelling. He ran over, wearing glasses and a black shirt with regular pants. Two boys followed, a giant wearing a white and pink shirt with a pair of loose-fitting pants and a man slightly shorter, wearing a blue hood and pants.
"Uh... H-hi." I waved awkwardly. Vanoss nudged me from beside me, hinting for me to thank them. "Thanks for... saving me." I rubbed my arm, avoiding eye contact with the intimidating giant with light brown hair and looking straight away from the blue hooded man. The only person who was least intimidating was the glasses boy, who was smiling and edging me on.
"No problem! Just... Vanoss over 'ere did a heap of the work!" Glasses-boy cheered, giggling. "I know. I just don't wanna thank him. He also got me into this mess." I grinned devilishly, hearing Vanoss scoff. "What do you mean, you're the one who ran off!" He yelped. "Yeah, but you existed! If you didn't, I wouldn't have been allowed outside, and wouldn't have been kidnapped!" I protested, glaring.
"Oh hush, you sound like a married couple!" Blue hood teased. He sounded like the Dearine guy, or was it Damian? I glared at him, forgetting his name. "We're not a couple!" I yelled out. "I wouldn't... With that thing?!" He gestured to me, acting disgusted. I gasped, fake-crying. "You don't like me? I thought you loved me!" I cried, hugging him tightly.
"I thought we had something special!" I giggled halfway through the sentence, but continued to wail like a child. "Fuck off, alright?" He shoved me off, and we all laughed. Soon, someone walked out, requesting for my presence to be in the throne room. I curtseyed to the boys and ran inside, rushing to the throne room quickly. "Child." My father glared, unamused.
"Father?" I spat back. "I have made a decision. To keep you in line." He stopped, watching my face change from pissed, to 'what-the-fuck-did-you-do-now?' "I have chosen to..." He trailed off. My eyes widened at the next few words in which spewed out of his high-ass mouth.
"You're getting married."
I realise the ending isn't grammatically correct, but whatever. :/ Hope you enjoyed!! :D
