I REALISED HOW LATE AND ASK I WAS OMGGG

I silently stared at the two short people whispering in the corner, as I lay on the raggedy bed and breathed calmly. Every now and then I'd cough up more of that blue liquid, and nobody knew what was going on. Not only that, but I hadn't seen Evan, Delirious, Tyler or even Mini since the water incident. I thought for a moment, before I sighed and decided to ask for Mini. Maybe he knew what was going on? I felt that I knew, but I wasn't quite sure.

I began to cough faintly, feeling too tired to get up. "H-hey!" My voice hoarsely croaked, as i began to feel the too familiar blue liquid arise in my throat. I began to cough it all up in the bucket beside me as the little people rushed over. I began to heave, feeling a tugging pain at the bottom of my throat. I continued to splutter as the blue liquid arose out of me.

"Miss!" They cried out, but soon their voices were drowned out with a long, dull ringing noise. The pitch didn't rise, nor fall, and my vision began to fade. "Go... get... Vanoss." I muttered before starting to lose control of my body. I heard a voice briefly speak to me, before I fully lost control.

Vanoss POV

I heard yelling, and immediately thought of the people still in the flood. I sprinted back to the area, leaving Delirious to help the two unconscious men lying in the grass.

"Hey!" I called out, seeing the water had dissapeared entirely, and I spied a crowd of people suffocating a familiar voice. "Let me go!" She cried, as she was being held down by other shorter people. I leapt down to help, only to notice something off. Her eyes were glowing a royal blue, and it was odd to feel this aura radiating through the atmosphere.

"Y-Y/n?" I gasped, seeing her look over to me. She was twitching maniacally with a dark blue liquid dripping from the corner of her mouth, and she began to settle down as I approached her. "Chōchinbi!" She cried. Now I was concerned and raked with confusion. Who was 'Chōchinbi'?

"Who?" I questioned. "Chōchinbi! Listen to me!" Y/n hissed. I frowned, shivers clawing slowly up my spine from hearing that word. "Who are you looking for?!" I yelped. She growled. "This water spirits body, even while it's rare, isn't useful at all! I need a vessel, Chōchinbi!" She seethed. I realised that there was something possessing Y/n. "I'm not Chōchinbi!" I snarled. "Oh, so you're his host. Well hello, now help me! This-- gak!" She began to choke, and Y/n's eyes flickered.

"Everyone--! RUN!" She cried, as people trembled and began to run for their lives as her eyes flickered back to a full blue. "Hahahah! Child, before you die, what would you like to know?" Y/n's possessor cackled, ridiculing me. "Who are you?!" I cried out, beads of sweat soaking my shirt.

"WHO, ME?!" The spirit cackled. "Yes! And GET OUT OF MY PRINCESS!" I snarled, baring my teeth as if I were a wild animal. "Oh fiesty~ I might just spare you!" The spirit teased, leaning in to pinch my cheek. I growled deeply, curling my fingers into a fist. She frowned, removing her hand from my personal space and carried on.

"Well, I guess I'll spare you the knowledge. I am known as Shinigami, the elemental of death. I've decided this place has to go, and I'm sure I'm right. However, there's no way you could eliminate me, as I'm required to keep life in check~" The spirit cackled. "Is there an elemtal of life?" I raised a brow. "... Yes, but there wouldn't be balance without me-- Ack!" The elemental possessing Y/n began to choke, and once again the light in her eyes flickered. "E-Evan!" She cried, choking back sobs.

"Y/n! Try and control it!" I cried out to her, and she painfully nodded. Y/n clutched at her neck, gasping for air. I thought for a moment. This elemental was looking for... Chōchinbi? Whomever that was, I had a feeling they were gesturing to my elemental. I sighed, closing my eyes. Y/n let out a blood boiling scream, causing me to flinch. I couldn't help her, yet it still pained me to hear her pain. I felt it, even.

I breathed in sharply and searched through my thoughts. One seemed to stand out, and idea. It might work. "Y/n! Stop!" My eyes shot open as I faced my pained princess, as she nodded and released her tension. Soon, her usually beautiful e/c eyes were now again a full blue. "You... uh.... Shinigami! ...? How can I help you find this Chōchinbi person?!" I yelled out. The spirit turned to me menacingly. "Oh, that'll be hard. Almost impossible..." They smirked. "I can do it!" I yelled out.

"Well, since I know you can't, I might just take this poor girls life." They grinned mischievously. It seemed as though they were being playful, and joking around, from how they smiled. This person was either morbid, or something else was going on.

"You leave her alone!" I went to grasp my sword, until I realised that no matter how much I tried to damage the spirit, I'd also be ruthlessly murdering my princess. I snarled, growling as I sheathed my sword. "You can't do anything to stop me~" They grinned. Suddenly, Y/n let out a blood curdling scream. However, she was smiling. "H-Help!" She cried. However, the tension lowered from her giggling slightly.

"Wh..." I didn't bother asking, I just thought of how much pain she must've been going through. "Y/n! Please!" I cried, tears tugging at my eyes. "Mmmhhhnnn-- HAHA!" Y/n's eyes flickered back to a e/c and she dropped to the floor, in hysterics. I saw a bright light, and a ghostly form appeared floating beside her.

This... was a joke?
