This was late because of my Friends B-day XC
Y/n's POV'Goal #1; sneak past Vanoss' wasn't as easy as I thought.
Crouching down in the shadows, I crawled around every person I came by. I dodged any maids, and swerved around the corner when I came into contact with an assassin. Vanoss, he wasn't as easy to avoid."Hey Y/n." I heard his footsteps behind me, and felt his hand grasp my shoulder. I squeaked and turned around, still holding my satchel. "Where are you going?" He asked, raising an eyebrow and smirking. I stayed silent for a moment, clearly thinking of a good excuse.
"U-uh.... I was just.... Just returning this bag! Hahahah... yeah." I stammered, sweat trailing down the side of my face in nervousness. I watched his smirk slowly form a frown, and I thought I had succeeded until he yet again, grinned devilishly.
"Who's bag is it, then?" He asked, mischievously. I felt my heart rate pick up in worry, but soon calmed myself and smiled.
"It's... Mark's." I smiled innocently, seeing him frown, closely to a growl. I hadn't seen Mark recently, actually, I wonder where he is.
"Alright, fine. Gotta go, sorting business out with Delirious." He glared at something behind me, as I spun around and saw Delirious making kiss faces and hearts with his hands. I blushed and chuckled awkwardly, and shuffled out the door. Mission... success?
I sprinted toward Grace and Blayde's house, trying desperately not to trip over the numerous rocks littering the pathway. I finally saw their house come into view, and barreled straight into the door. I sat in the doorway, as Grace looked up from the couch. I giggled nervously, as she sighed and placed a slip of paper in between the page.
"Hello... princess..." She muttered, picking up the door. I apologized profusely, as Blayde waltzed through the door. He wore a suit, with a fabric decorated in black scales. He looked like a python, and his glare didn't help the intimidation. "What.. happened?" He asked, unamused.
"I'll pay to get it repaired! O-or--" I was cut off by Grace. "Fixed it." She smiled, as I turned around to see the door back on its hinges. "Oh... okay! Well, nothing happened! Uh.... Let's get the training started!" I rushed toward Blayde, seeing his gaze soften. I saw a glimpse of green behind his frames, but the shine off the sun quickly shielded it.
"Fine, you ready?" He asked. I nodded happily, slugging the satchel over my shoulder. "Okay, we can start with the basics. Like... parkour, or agility." He replied, grinning. I groaned. "But I wanna do all the fun stuff! Like... violence!" I whined sheepishly, but followed him anyway. I guess he know best.
"You know how to jump... right?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. I began hopping in circles around him, and he just laughed. "I mean jumping, more so leaping. Jumping with a certain stance can boost you higher." He bent his knees, lowering his torso and pushed his legs up, straightening mid-air and landing with legs, yet again, bent. I sighed, knowing this would take a while.
~timeskipp~
"You're gonna do it!" He cheered me on. I had accomplished the jumping part, now to jump from a high up rooftop. I cringed, and perfected my posture. I leapt down, bracing my legs for the landing. I bent my legs and caught myself with my hands, surprisingly landing without hurting myself.
"Great job!" He ran over to me, and my eyes lit up in excitement. "YAY! Uh... now what?" I asked, confused. He just simply smiled, picking his stuff up and pointing to a tall tower in the forest. "You're gonna try racing me. Of course, use everything I've taught you, like pushing off the ground with your legs properly. I'll go easy on you." He grinned, bracing himself. I sighed, readying myself too.
Pushing my legs out from under me, he cried 'GO' and we were off like a blown out candle. We were neck and neck, when we were split up in the forest. I grimaced as I leapt over roots and little woodland creatures, feeling my legs strain and my lungs burn. I pushed myself onward, not slowing down.
I came back into the open field, where I saw the open field of clovers and grass. I saw him, just ahead of me. I narrowed my gaze and broke out into a full-on sprint, suddenly determined to beat him.
In minutes, I was infront of him and sprinting toward the tower. I slowed down so I didn't barrel into the wall and cheered, leaning on the brick and panting heavily. He jogged over, clearly surprised. I slid down the wall, groaning and heaving. He bent down to my level, reaching out his hand to help me up. I took it, pulling myself up off the wet grass.
"You... are surprisingly fast." He smiled comfortingly. I nodded, smiling. "I guess that's all for today, it's almost sunset." He gestured toward the orange and golden sky, glazed over with pinks and reds. I watched the perfecting on awe, transfixed by the fiery colours.
"Pretty..." I breathed. He just laughed. "We see stuff like this all the time!" He grinned. I looked over to him, gawking. He saw a masterpiece of a landscape this often?!
"What?! This is beautiful!" I breathed, looking back to the scenery. He laughed and began to walk away, as I shook my head and caught up to him. "That's so cool!" I continued to be in awe by the sunset. "It's... its like a still fire, but with tints of pink and it's in the sky, and it's not really hot, but you can't touch it, and--" I was cut off. "Shh, I get it, it's cool." He laughed.
"Sorry, just... I don't get to see stuff like that often." I sighed. He looked as though to be in deep thought for a moment, and his eyes lit up. "Hey, next training session, I have something to show you! It's also really pretty." He grins. "What could be prettier than that?!" I gasped, excited. "You have to wait until tomorrow!" He laughed, walking me back to the castle.
I can't wait!
Well then. This was clearly rushed, but I liked it. Anyways, hope you enjoyed! I'll upload a schedule on both this book and my Delirious book, so look out for that.
