Y/N's POV

"I... I didn't think it'd be so hard, I..." I sighed, resting my head in my hands. "I understand that he was a very, very close friend of yours, but... It was you, or us who would've taken his life." The queen's soothingly calming voice flooded my ears, as I felt her feminine hands trace circles into my back. "I wish it didn't have to happen, all... this." I groaned, sighing.

"But it did, and you should realise that this happened to more people than you, and they somehow strived through it! I'm sure you can, too." Queen May smiled comfortingly, beginning to stand up. "You should get some rest, we're gonna find out how to sneak into the base tomorrow, if that's alright with you." She glanced over her shoulder at me once more, before walking out the bedroom and closing the door behind her. I began to stand, but decided to take her word for it. She's a queen of the happiest kingdom ever, after all.

I rested my head on the warm, soft pillow and thought of Evan as I shut my eyes softly, and hoped for the best.

"Do you know how it feels?" The words echoed through my head as I sat up, heavily breathing. I looked around, seeing nothing but darkness. Yet again, the voice ran through my head. "Do you?" It seemed neglected, or at least saddened. "What are you going on about?!" I yelped, scared.

"Death, it hurts. You've inflicted it on other people because it was 'What had to be done' or 'it was in self-defense' or something along those lines. You always make up some sort of excuse as to why you had to take yet another life." A different voice began to tease me, as the air tensed. "Wh.... I haven't killed anybody without a good reason!" I cried out into the darkness. "Death feels cold, and numbing. You've never been through that, have you? Nobody has put that burden on you." The voices grumbled, synced.

"I... what're you getting at?!" I defensively snarled, feeling an overwhelming energy swarm to my arms and into the palms of my hands. "We want you to share the same eternity as we do, now that you've cut our life so short." They cackled, before a burning, stinging sensation tugged at my lungs. I clawed at my neck while the world around me spun, even though the world around me was also pitch black.

I gagged, coughing up blood and feeling my chest swell. My face became a deathly pale, and the world flashed a bright, colourless tinge before I sat up, sweating in my bed. I frowned, lifting my hands to my face to feel a damp texture. I looked around me, to see that the room was already full of water. I felt lightheaded, and the sheets were absolutely soaked. I groaned as I got up in my soaked clothing and opened the door, only for more water to pour in like a hurricane. I spluttered and choked before realising that I was close to drowning. I swam out the door and checked all the rooms, feeling my lungs somehow still expanding as if I were breathing.

I made sure nobody else was in the castle before swimming out the door and into the open, where we were absolutely wrecked by a flood. People were screaming and flailing their arms as waves attempted to pull them down.

I yelped as a slimy tendril grasped my leg, and I was dragged under the surface. I squirmed in the firm grip, and looked down to see an octopus. It didn't have any recognizable features apart from a light bubbly silhouette and eight tentacles. The octopus also seemed to be a simple bubble, and that confused me. I kicked it and watched as it wobbled like jelly, before it hardened and became glass. I squealed and, mistakenly, absorbed a load of the water around me. I thought for a moment, feeling the power swarm through me harshly.

I began to absorb all the nearby liquids, including the icy octopus, and watched as the water began to fade away. Suddenly, a sharp pain stabbed me in the chest, as I silently screamed and sunk to the bottom, the water now rapidly rushing away.

I felt heavy, and yet so strong. A ringing, hammering pain continued to chip away at my chest, it seemed, and I began to breathe as my head broke the surface tension of the water. Soon, everyone was safe. I still, however, have yet to find my friends and allies. I glanced at a dark hooded figure in the corner of my eye, seeing yet again that man. I huffed and stumbled forward as I began to attempt to run.

I coughed, seeing a dark blue liquid stain my hands as I wiped my mouth. I gagged and toppled over, groaning as a sick feeling replaced the harsh pain.

I looked up, seeing the familiar hem of a skirt running over to me, and the Queen tried to help me up. "Y/n! You're alright....!" She cheered, hoisting me up to my feet. I chuckled, nodding. "Yeah, I guess. The waters gone, who could've done that?" I sarcastically rolled my eyes. "... Y/n! That could've been dangerous!" She gasped, soon realising I had consumed all the water. "No, it.... it easy dangerous..." I muttered quietly, seeing the world around me spin. "Huh?!-- Y/n, come on! We have to get you to the local doctors!" She gasped, as I coughed up that same blue liquid.

She let me lean on her shoulder as she began to quickly walk toward a soaked building, with little elven people in small robes fed people and cared for them. One looked up and saw me, it's eyes widening as it ran over. "Ms! Are you okay?!" It's chipper voice yelped, as I shook my head. "N.. nooo..." I groaned, falling over as the world faded to black, oddly silent.
