When people apologize, I don't feel any better about what they did. But if they apologize and I tell them that it's okay, I instantly feel better.
This is pretty hard to explain but I'll try my best. I'll try I show an example.
Person one: *says something or does something mean*
Me: *says something in response and quickly hides in piles of fan fiction*
Person one: I'm sorry.
At this point, I'm still mad and hurt at them, and I have no intentions of forgiving them any time soon. Me being me though, tells them it's okay.
Me: It's okie, don't fret.
Okay. So right here is where I forgive them. When I tell someone that it's okay and that they're fine, I calm down and I'm comforted by my own words. Then I forgive them instantly. I'm still hurt and I still feel awkward, but I'm not mad anymore. Is this weird? It feels weird and I just noticed it right now.
