too little or too much

My plants are dying. They've shriveled up and are withering away, yet I water them each day in hopes that when I come back again they will have sprouted back up, broad green leaves standing tall and proud. No, of course they won't. I cannot work miracles.

Perhaps I have been giving them too much water. Perhaps too little. Did they not have the support they needed? Did their stems snap under their own weight? Was there not enough sun? Did they wilt in the darkness? Or was it too bright? Were they battered by the constant stream of light, drying them out and slowly killing them? Maybe their pots were too small and their roots began to strangle themselves. Maybe if I had planted them outside where their roots could spread out and they could grow they would have flourished.

I just don't understand. I tended to them and poured water and weeks into them, but they still die. Maybe I'm just not very good with plants.

Am I still even talking about plants?
