Reunited In Years

Chapter 3

I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock. I quickly brushed my teeth and got ready for school. I ran down the stairs and stopped, acting natural. "Hey mom." She gave me a weird look before replying "Um, morning sweety." I looked at her and nodded casually. "Is everything okay?" I asked. Now this time she look a long pause. "(Name).....The real question is are you okay? You're acting strange. You usually don't say 'hey mom' like that. I mean, you say that, but you never give eye contact. You just, walk by..."  "Uh huh..I see. Well, is there anything you'd like to tell me?" She just shrugged. I sighed. Playing hard ball I see. Then my dad came down the stairs. "Morning ladies. (Name) what are you doing up earlier than usual? You still have a while until school." I pressed my lips together. "Oh nothing really. I just need to head to school a little early to work on a project with Zac and Cameron." I grabbed my backpack and headed out the door. Looks like I didn't find out any information. When was mom going to tell me this "Secret". But I know for certain she is keeping something from me. If only G emailed me already. I could tell him whats going on, because this is pretty interesting. He could help me. He'd know what to do. But instead, I'll just find Zac and Cam, and talk about it with them. Then later on I'd head back home to try to crack the secret out of mom. But surviving this whole day was going to be hard. Because of school, I have to wait seven hours. Then I have to walk home, which will waste more time. What if mom isn't home? No. It's Tuesday. She's usually cleaning the house or something. "Hey (Name)." I looked up. Zac and Cam were already waiting for me.

We walked towards class as I told them everything. It wasn't easy. We were all thinking of the possiblities. Maybe mom was going to have a baby, and some relative was visiting. I've always wanted a brother or sister since I was an only child. This is why I hang with my friends so much. But I'll find out soon enough. Right when the last bell rings, I'm going to run home and ask my mom about the secret. I can't take it anymore. School is pretty much the only thing in my way right now.

*7 Hours later*

Finally. I bounded out of class and went through the school doors. "(Name) Wait up!" I thought it was Zac so I turned around. It wasn't. It was Jake. I was surprised he'd even talk to me, 'cause, you can somewhat say he's 'popular' I guess. "Hi Jake." "Hey." We stood a while there. Then I remembered I had to get home. Before I could tell him, he said "So (Name), I was wondering if you'd want to hang out or something on Saturday? Maybe a movie? Or unless you're busy..." I couldn't believe this. I smiled. "Sure. So where and when should I meet you..?" "Um is 6 good? I'll pick you up." I nodded. "See you later Jake?" When he was out of sight. I started jumping and shrieking a little. I know I said I wasn't really interested in him, but I lied. Who could not like him? He was insanely gorgeous, and so kind. Then I snapped back to reality, and started sprinting home. Time to find out this secret, I thought.

I burst through the door yelling "MOM!! I NEED TO ASK YOU SOMETHING!!" But I didn't enter the house seeing my mom. In front of me, stood two figures. And neither was her.
