I walked through the school halls. My heart numb. I had went to Jake's house last night to ask his mom about their dog. She had no idea what I was talking about. And that was all I needed to hear. This hurt a lot. I have known Jake for so long. We were good friends. Everyone, including the teachers, said Jake was wonderful and kind. And I believed it. He always helped people and did amazing things. I'd witnessed it myself. People had also swore he never told a lie. But they were way wrong.

"Hey (Name) wait up." It was Jake. I just kept walking. "Don't talk to me." He went in front and stopped me. "Hey are you mad I didn't make it? My dog remember?" I glared at him. "What dog? You don't have one Jake. Your mom even told me. She said she doesn't like pets." I saw the slightest hint of hurt in his eyes. I started to feel sad for him but shook it up. I was angry. He hurt me.

"Baby I didn't mean to lie--" "Don't call me baby. Jake, we haven't even went on our first date yet and you already cheated on me with another girl." Now there was a crowd forming around us. "I like you okay (Name)?" "Yeah that's why you cheated on me. You know people said you were down to Earth. They said you were honest. But that isn't true. Jake, if you're going to lie, at least think of a good one." I turned my heel on him when he spoke again.

"I am a good liar (Name). The best. Remember a few years ago when I spilled chemicals by accident on your science project, an hour before it would be judged? Yeah. I did it on purpose. Thanks to that I got first place, and a trip to meet the president. There's more I've told too."

I stopped. Tears formed in my eyes. I had wanted to win and meet the president more than anything. And when he spilled the chemicals on my project, I couldn't fix it. The damage was too much, and it was too late. "You're not a good liar, I was too kind and believed you." I managed to choke out. I saw Natalia, Zac, Cam, and Greyson. Worry was on their faces.

"Well duh. You have to be nice and gain someone's trust before you lie to them." I lost it. My hand went across his cheek, leaving a nice red mark. I started walking off, not regreting a single thing. A proud smile formed on my face. I saw people out of the corner of my eyes in awe. Not because I slapped him, but because they found out the truth about Jake. Most were also smiling. Happy I had taught him a lesson. But just cause I slapped him, it didn't mean he'd stop lying.

"He better stop lying unless he wants a bunch of handprints on his face."
