When Amaris woke up, she was being held tightly in Jon's arms. In the night, the furs had slipped down their torsos, leaving them slightly exposed. Shivering just a little, Amaris pulled the covers over their bare torsos and pressed her face against Jon's chest to block her eyes from the streams of light wafting through the windows.

"Stop moving so much," Jon mumbled as she struggled to get back to being as comfortable as she had been when she first woke up.

"It's cold," Amaris replied simply in response, curling herself against his body.

A small, content smile worked its way onto her lips as Jon held onto her even tighter than before. This was something new and beautiful. Before this, it had been rushed kisses and caresses stolen away in empty corridors and behind locked doors. Falling asleep with someone was so very intimate and Amaris knew she wanted to spend every night falling asleep with Jon.

"Are you going to move around this much when we're married?" Jon asked, grumbling against her neck.

"Is this your way of accepting my proposal?"

"Mm," Jon said, pressing kisses to her neck.

Gasping, Amaris clutched his shoulder tightly and bit down on her lip to stop herself from moaning out.

"You're going to be the death of me, Jon Snow," Amaris whispered as he kissed down her torso.

Grinning, Jon kissed her cheek and flopped onto his back with a small sigh.

"We should probably hold off," Jon said, stroking her face. "A war is no place for a child and at this rate—"

"Jon," Amaris said, cutting him off. "I'm pregnant."

Something that Amaris couldn't place flashed across Jon's face. He sat up and ran a hand through his hair, standing up and crossing the room. He pulled on his trousers and stood at one of the opened windows, not looking at Amaris. Biting her lip, she tugged one of the covers over her shoulders and hesitantly approached him.

"How long?"

He continued staring down at the courtyard, his face impassive. Amaris couldn't tell if he was happy or angry, or something else altogether.

"Have I known?" Amaris asked. "Melisandre told me yesterday."

Finally, Jon turned to look at her. His eyes were looking at her stomach, covered by the bulky furs.

"How far along are you?"

"A month or so," Amaris frowned. "Maybe longer. I'm not sure. I'd need a maester for that."

Stoically, Jon nodded.

"Are you unhappy?"

Instantly, Jon shook his head and bent down so that he was looking Amaris in the eye.

"From the first moment I met you," Jon said, smiling slightly, "I knew that I would fall in love with you, and when that happened I knew that if I ever could marry and start a family, I wanted it to be with you. This is all I've wanted since we met, Amaris. When I kissed you in the stables, in the library. When you smiled at me and talked to me like we were equals. In all those moments, I knew that I would love you forever."

Tearing up, Amaris smiled at Jon.

"I'm not unhappy. I love you and I want nothing more than to have a child with you."
