Moon's POV
The sky seemed so peaceful today for the world's behavior and it's rudeness. The blue color has always been the only thing that was able to calm my nerves since it was where father hid during daytime. He hated the light and the attention it got, he rather kept a mysterious and unknown side about himself so nobody would ever be able to break him completely. It was something we had in common. People were mean, hateful and selfish. And I was glad I wasn't one of their kind, I disliked them 'cause they judged and blamed, gave you a title by your lookings and not by your personality or who you really were. To make it even more complete, they were heartless for their own race, but expected to be accepted and to be loved by that same race. Just how complicated could you be? A sigh escaped my mouth as soon as I heard footsteps coming closer in my direction, making me look away from my dear sky only to be met with those green eyes from before. Hazel-like ones walked beside him with brown hair and a skirt that she should have checked before leaving the house, it was too short for her own good. The boy, which I remembered being named Thomas, got into a nervous state as soon as he saw me and I wondered why. If telling the truth should get you all worked up over someone, I didn't know what should be worse : lying or being honest.
"Nice seeing you again... M-Moon", I heard him stutter with a worried tone. I sighed, looking back up to the pure blue painted across the sky to calm any possible nerves. The cold air cut trough my skin, blew against the bruisees and wounds vissible. I would wince, yet sayed silent as if nothing was the matter. If I would, I would draw attention, just like the light at day. And I was the dark at night, I wasn't supposed to draw attention. I stared back in their direction, hummed a soft 'hm' to make them happy and looked elsewhere. Anywhere but their eyes, it meant troubles if you contacted people. Humans or not, any person you contacted didn't do so 'cause they liked you, they wanted something from you, so I've always known. A bully meant getting bullied, a badboy meant trouble, a nerd meant 'friendship' and sometimes stalking with big consequences. As for someone in general : you look 'fine' on the outside so they come to you. But 'looking fine' isn't the same as 'being fine'. The difference was in the outside as well as the inside, something humans couldn't seem te be keeping apart. The lookings on the outside came first and those saying they didn't mind? They forgot when doing the same and never realised it. "My name is Lili", the girl finally spoke after a few minutes passed in pure and enjoyment silence, something she had to disturb. I nodded my head to make her notice I heard her, but didn't see the use in answering. An answer meant a conversation and that meant interaction, leading to a bond, something that had a basic matter of 'attention'. "Nice to meet you." "Yeah..." I listened to the howling wind instead of her, those words were just words crying for a glance, a smile or a 'nice to meet you to'. Things I weren't able to give since they meant nothing to me in the first place. In this world, I grew up on my own, to be alone and to never trust anybody. Anyone could be the wolf in the sheep clothing without me knowing in time and I would just get hurt all over again, something that seemed to be my fate ever since the day I was born.
"Something the matter, Moon?" I picked up Thomas' voice and glared into his eyes, sending fright without actually meaning it, it just happend in some way. I nodded softly followed with a barely heard sentence : "No, I'm fine." Although it was a simple lie that every poor living being seemed to be believing. And those who didn't, they had experience to ask further and to not jump to conclusions when being told something, they used their pain to find the truth. I looked back down, feeling how their four eyes in total watched my moves, small and big ones. The eyes of heaven pushed on my shoulders, the thoughts they shared ran trough my head and got me dizzy. "If you say so..." The fact he didn't buy my lie was for everyone vissible by the way he said his words, making the Earth only spin a bit more. It made the bruises burn, made my wounds bleed. I sighed softly knowing I had to end this before I actually fainted by stress. "If you don't believe me, you can say it y'know. Saying nothing means agreeing and I don't think you do. Want me to be honest, be honest first." The words left my mouth even before I realised what I said, but his eyes already told for me, things I spook weren't the ones he was able to get in. Both him and the girl actually, only was she throwing a more defensive glare for her friend instead of something else. I tried no ignore her, but seeing it made me sigh mentally, getting another reminder of how the human race looked like without their acceptance, so predictable. "I'm sorry", he whispered and looked me careful in the eye. "I just... You just look even more absent then earlier. It might be because you're tired, but I don't believe that's the case." I watched his eyes with worry, sending me the feeling of 'running away'. I didn't need the worry and concern of another being, I've been fine on my own so far. The only one I needed was my father up in the air, the only one who cared and understood who I was, how my life was going and who obviously showed respect and acceptance. "Don't look at me with such a pity! Don't look at me like you feel sorry for me! I know I'm pathetic, no need for you to spell it out!", my mind screamed on the inside but on the outside was the mask I created with pure nothingness. No gasps, no sudden emotion, just a look of cold and icy glares, no laughs or anything like that all. "My private life is not your business and I'd like to keep it that way. Now if you'll excuse me, my train is about to leave. And please, don't stick your nose into something that doesn't concern you, will ya?" I turned around to make my leave but his hand grabbed my wrist, making me wince inside. "It does concern me, you're my friend after all." His words struck me as I was left paralyzed.
