8. EX-execution

Holly's POV

Latorius, who watched all of us from the thrown at the end of the big hall, smirked lightly while playing with his fingers. The crown with several diamonds was placed on his head as he seemed to be the ruler of us all. "Today is the day", he spoke to all of us. "I am the new ruler of our land and nobody will ever stop me from now on." The crowd present started clapping, there was a lot of commotion. "With you as my army, we will be the boss forever!" Everyone got very enthousiastic, making him proud and sit even more uncomfortable if that was possible, in my eyes it wasn't. "We are the saviors of the next generation", he continued speaking but I stopped listening. He just kept on talking anyways, like always, telling the usual : how great we are, how good this was to do, etc. It got boring after hearing so many times. Instead I listened to my protector named Middy, a mind reading bird, on my shoulder who whispered the words I was so eager to know. "Lili Shaw reports : I have arrived safely at Trogcross Academy, searching for my target. Main suspect : Moon Knight. Further information follows, Lili Shaw out."

A smile came across my face as I heard she was safe and sound, only strange she happend to find her target so fast. I sighed, allowing my bird to continue. "Jazz Shaw reports : I failled my current mission. Everyone left the castle in a hurry, everything's still inside except the holy book. All people are safe, some hurt but no dying ones. I'm gonna keep in contact, am heading for forest nearby the castle. Jazz Shaw out."

I nodded softly, continuing to listen. "Xarius Shaw reports : Latorius is having the power after his coup d'etat with help of his right hand, unknown by name. It is said he'd have a devil on the shoulder as protector, information from uncertain sources. People are fleeing the neighborhood for safety. Information about situation in details is comming, Xarius Shaw out."

I looked down, focused my thoughts and allowed Middy to send all of my thoughts to my family. "Holly Shaw reports : I've been following the threat from closeby. He indeed took the crown and rules the kingdom for now. I will continue my undercover mission as a part of his army." I took a deep breath before speaking again. "In other words, his takeover was a succes." The fact we lost during the fight for our land felt like a bomb had exploded. "Our leader, King Rolu V, is dead. Our world has fallen."

Middy looked in my direction, noticing my sadness and stress, but a cool gaze made sure she didn't react to my feelings. I didn't need her reacting, if I was found out I wasn't able to share information to the commoners of the country. Fighting would be useless and creating a rebellion would take too much just to throw it away if we had no certainty. Latorius was a sly type of man who didn't trust anyone too soon. He'd do anything for power and if it meant to execute someone just to keep it, it wouldn't stop him in any way.

"So, my people, listen well", he called me back from my thoughts so I payed attention. Anything he said could and would be used against him by the family Shaw, protectors of the throne. "In order to keep the power, to be the head of our kind and world, we need to get rid of the gifted King, chosen by the sun." We all nodded while I send all the information to my family, using Middy as helping centre. "Rumors say he'd be a simple teenage boy with the looks of a fifteen or sixteen year old. He'd have a cold attitude and great powers, so it's not like he'd win the heart of the people, no need to worry about that. Commoners don't help cold-hearted people like that, so he's on his own from the beginning. Although, there is to be said that he shouldn't be underestimated due his greatness." The word greatness left his mouth as if he was mocking his sworn yet unknown enemy. "The prediction told by the sun told us he was born in the Fallen Valley nearby the countryside in the North side. I want all of you to visit all surrounding areas and take all the boys fitting to his description. Bring them to me, lock them up, kill them for all I care, just make sure I see none of them ever on free feet again!"

Shock ran trough my veins as I listened closely, never I'd imagine a being could be this cruel, even if I could've known he was this way. Killing a child out of fear? He was paranoia, it made it hard not to get too excited and attack him right then and there. "That's not all", he continued after his anger issue. Who can bring me his head, with the proof he was chosen by the sun, will be my follower, the next king after my dead." Everyone got excited, started clapping and planning, discussing with each other how they would win this 'competition' and how they would kill the now wanted boy, told to be the real King of our world. "That's not all", Latorius again interrupted the loud crowd who were going all wild with their thoughts. "One little detail still should be told. If one should help him, don't hesitate to kill them right away in front of everyone's eyes. Let them hang in the streets as warning and don't show any mercy. Those who show weakness, kill them! Those we hesitate, kill them! Those who are merciful, kill them! Anyone at all, his friends, his family, a commoner, anyone at all! It's a rich baby for all I care, execute them all!" I was in shock, panic ran across me. This couldn't be happening... "I do not tolerate betrayers, those will be killed in front of the public eye in a very painful way. Do whatever it takes, to kill him! Execute the King of the new generation chosen by the sun for the Wizard World, Echo Link!"
