Thomas' POV

I looked into his gold shinning eyes as I felt how he tried to free himself from my grip, but I held him closely. I knew I looked weak and so I was, but when I needed, I could be pretty strong. "I am your friend from now on and as a friend it's my job to be concerned about your well being. About your train, there's still the next one if you really should miss it. If you want to talk alone, I'm sure Lili wouldn't mind. But like it or not, we are gonna talk and you are gonna tell me what's wrong." I was shocked when I heard those words leave my mouth, knowing I wasn't such a person. Yes, I tried to communicate but always ended in misunderstandings. I could be headstrong, but never this much. I looked at him, not knowing what his reaction would be, but it seemed he was just as shocked as I was. So I turned towards Lili who smilled, said goodbye and left even without me asking. She was a great friend and I knew I was very lucky knowing her. Maybe I should buy her dinner or something to thank her later...

I watch his movements closely as he just stayed silent, no activity shared with the outside world. He was left in his own world of shock, so I decided to take things slow. With a soft grip on his wrist I took him to a bench a bit further away and sat down next to him. He didn't say a single word, so I decided to try. "Why are you so surprised, Moon?" His gaze was locked on the ground and looked nowhere else but the grey which was covering the empty street. "People are mean", he whispered so I could barely hear him speaking. "They cheat on the love of their life and expect forgiveness and trust in return. They bully a person and ask to the same kind to be respected and to be accepted as if they are the victim. They judge and blame only to beg on their knees that people won't do it to them. They're complicated and make things so hard. I'm glad that I ain't a part of the human race." His eyes stared up, to the sky that was turning into the cold shades of black and grey now the night was slowely coming in. "Then, what kind are you?" He shrugged, not meeting me once as he just seemed to be talking to himself, trying not to speak in riddles. "I am from no kind nor belong to one, I am my own race. I do not fit in the society that was written by someone else nor do I try. I am who I am, the one who nobody notices nor will be missed when gone. I'm the prologue and author's note which nobody reads, the dead which everyone forgets, the black which nobody watches at and the wind which is alive, but of no use nor being seen as a 'nature miracle'. I am just someone you could call by name but eventually means nothing to the human race. And I'm glad for not being a part of that, rather lonely with dad than being forced by the rules of a messed up society that nobody wants to part of."

I fell silent, taking it all in before speaking up, not wanting to push him away now we actually had our first real talk. "Then, what's bothering you?" He shrugged and turned his gaze to stare me in the eyes with an icy look. "My existance wasn't something I asked for, neither it's a cure nor a gift. I was born 'cause my father wanted so, not because I had a say in this. So why am I being the blame by a lower kind, a kind with nothing but faults and hate, for breathing? I didn't ask for this beating heart within my chest, so why should you judge me for it? I can't do anything about it." I heard his voice cracking in several pieces, tears in his eyes which he didn't want to let out and a heart full of pain that nobody seemed to notice nor be healing. I slapped myself mentally since I was no better than the persons he talked about. He wasn't weird nor strange, he was lonely and broken, all on his own with nobody but his father. And I felt sorry for not noticing his true situation, for not opening up to the person he really was. "I am sorry", I told him with all honesty but he just waved it away, turned around. "Why being sorry if it wasn't your fault, four-eyes? That's just naïve."

A small smile creeped on my face, his tears seemed to be fading and so did the pain in his voice. Maybe he didn't need a 'hello' or 'nice to meet ya' but just a simple friend. Someone I was going to be from now on. "I hope you didn't forget, Moon, but I greeted you by your name so now we're friends. And since we are, I won't leave you alone anymore, you know that right?" I winked to let him know I was joking around, not that serious and for the first time in forever, he let out a small giggle for me to be easily heard. It was a great relieve, hearing that sound coming from him. "I know", he said softly with a smile which soon faded back to his mask, although I knew the inside was smiling now. "You don't have to spell it out, I can tell a joke from reality." Now it was my turn to giggle softly before we both stood up, heading towards the train station.

"I need to take the train to the other side, platform 2. You?" He held his chin. "Platform 5." I nodded, walking beside him before saying our goodbye's. "I guess I'll see you tomorrow in that case?" I saw him walking away to his own platform, waving me off without looking around. A move that I took as a 'yes'.
