It only takes a flutter
A brush
Or the slightest change in pressure
And I break
Just like that
Everything I worked so hard to fix
Gone to the windEven the smallest movement
Pulls the trigger
And off goes the gun
Bang bang
Bullets filled with words
Hit me right in the chest
All the way through my heartThe weightlessness of a drop
Overfills the buckets
And the room floods
Water that is poisoned
Your thoughts and words absorb me
I'm drowning in pain
Sinking into a hole of despairIt only takes so much
One stomp
Or one clap
And the earthquake shakes again
Everything that was set up so neatly
Shaken down in one go
Disappeared to dustYou only need say a word
Whispered under your breath
Or shouted to the world
The wind carries it to my ears
And just like that
After all the barriers I built
Knocked down with just a wordIt doesn't take much
To break me
To cut right through me
To drown me
To wreck me
To knock me down
It doesn't anything at all reallySo when I give you my heart
When I place it inside your hands
To hold
And cherish
Be careful
Be gentle
Because darling, it doesn't take much
