I do not understand
How people can be so cruel
They spit words out carelessly
Like they are pebbles
Harmless pebbles the size of a snail
They can inflict painBut throw enough pebbles
And they start to feel like boulders
You throw pebbles into lakes
Pebbles only create small ripples
But the longer you throw
The more the ripples growYou are looking under microscopes
Take a step back
I wish you all could SEE
Your pebble words aren't harmless
They are creating rips and tears
Your pebble words
Aren't effecting only meThey tell us it's okay to be different
It's okay to have a little extra weight
We will make clothes especially for you
It's fine if you can't afford brand names
Off brands look just as cute too
You don't have to be doll like BarbiesYet, why are their opposites praised?
We show favor to the
Doll like Barbies
With stick thin waists
Perfectly polished skin
And caked facesThey taunt and tease
If you aren't stick thin
But if you lose to much weight
You are an anorexic freak
How can we be expected to
Express ourselvesThey are disgusted
If your skin is less then perfect
But they cry liar and fake
When it is perfectly polished
How can we be expected
To love our natural beautyThey say no makeup is the new
It look
But if you without it
Suddenly you are a troll
Put too much on
And you are a clownHow can the be expected to be pleased
If all they see is black and white
Not the shades in between
You can only be this or that
Stick thin or nastily fat
Drop dead gorgeous or gag me uglyI wish there was a way for you to see
You think if you can't see me cry
Then there was no real effect
If she smiles, laughs then calling her
Fat ugly and stupid
Is okayI will say it was a joke
But you still can not see
Teardrops on my pillow
They will dry by morning
Yelling at them to stop
Those sounds will fade into echoesHow can you not see
Pebbles words
Become boulders
You have corrupted society
You have stained
The white white roseYou all curse Hitler
He murdered millions
Yet you do the same
Only not with gas and guns
Your bullets are your pebble words
And they are hitting billionsHow can you not see
Pebble words aren't pebbles
If you throw them all at once
They rip and tear
If you keep throwing there will be holes
Until nothing is left to hold up the world
