You made it all better
You numbed the pain with the words you spoke
The way you said them
Silk and honey off the tongue
You never had to touch me
Your words gave me the same thrill
You made it blurry
The words you had took away all the sharp edges
You used them in such a way
Nothing had a blade when you spoke it
It rolled off your lips so softly
Your words felt like cotton on my skin
You had me on your strings
All those words inside of you
They sang my name until I had to comply
Your words were mesmerizing
They held my gaze for a little too long
Your words made everything seem a little bit more beautiful
You made it all better
You made it blurry
You had me on your strings
You numbed away all my pain
You took away all the hurtful blades
You had me wrapped around your finger
Until you left
Left me a note
But none of your lovely words were in it
This time
Your words made it worse
They cut me in all the right places
And all our strings broke
All of your words grew wings
And they flew away
The rest are gone
I do not know when they will be back
