Just a Thought

Okay so just seconds ago I was on Pinterest, because it is the epitome of creativity and inspiration, and I searched 'ball gowns.'

Explanation: I have a board called If I Was a Princess because personally I love dressing up and wearing extravagant gowns even though I haven't done either of this things. I guess that's a bit controversial since I hate dresses, but gowns are a different story. Anyways, that board only had about 21 pins saved to it and my other boards were in the three digit numbers. My OCD took over and I needed to save more pins to the Princess board so it was relatively in range with my other boards.

I'm weird, yes we have been over this. Moving on...and I used the little suggested things that come up when you start typing in the search bar and it came up with 'ball gowns fairytale' So now I am looking at gowns that are out of fairytales. And I am expecting to see lots of flowers and neutral colors and big, poofy dresses because it does say ball gowns.

But everything I looked at was for weddings, not only that but every picture where you could see the dress and not the venue spot for the wedding, it was all couples!

*I am now going to proceed into a rant, brace yourself*

It was as if by being in a fairytale it automatically assumes that a fairytale would be marrying! Don't get me wrong, I want to get married but I don't need a man to have a fairytale! Is that really how people view that? I wouldn't be surprised...how many disney princesses are there that had a happy ending without getting with a dude? Merida and Elsa. Two.

What does that teach the children of today? That happily ever after ends with marriage? Again, marriage is great, but it is not a necessity for happiness.

Excuse me, we can be perfectly happy being single. Just because we don't have 'true' love doesn't mean we aren't happy, or we aren't living a fairytale.

Going back to the argument about the children, no wonder so many girls are hopeless romantics! We grew up watching movies that ended happily only after the main character found their one and only true love.

Ugh...so I was angrily glaring at my computer screen and making semi-violent hand motions in that direction.

That's all. I'm emotional. I'm weird. I share stuff because I can.

Time for a word you didn't know existed!

Defenestration: the action of throwing someone out of a window.

Seriously guys, I could not make this up if I tried. That's my word for the day.

Keep shining lovelies, don't let this mundane summer get you down! Stay cool. Like cool bean burritos. Again, I am as weird as Reid is smart. (Please tell me you understand that reference)

Sincerely,

I have become quite addicted to the word mundane, I use it in everyday conversation now, it makes me sound smart and sophisticated-ish, which we all know I am not:) *sophisticated...I am actually quite smart, okay bye!!
