*Amora's POV*
I just answered all the questions and did my best, all subjects; Maths, all the Sciences, Geography, History and two others. Each subject had four pages, back to back and I was utterly astonished when I discovered that I did all subjects in less than two hours. I kept on checking the clock on the wall, hoping that the time wasn't wrong.
I sat back in my chair, in pure silence, the door opened. I turned to my right and saw John, "Are you finish?" He halted in front of me, his prying eyes were looking down at mine.
Standing up, I handed the pile to him, "Yeah, I'm done and the next test?" He accepted it and took big steps towards the door. I squinted my eyes while I followed him. I saw Anthony on the road with Mom, my heart pounded- Ugh, stop.
"Yes, just follow me and," We were back in the hallways of the building. "Are you feeling fine? You look like you've seen a ghost." I felt his eyes on me, luckily, we turned to a corner, so I could avoid his gaze.
"I feel great- Don't worry," We walked side to side, approaching two doors. "Well, how about you? Aren't you feeling tired?" Again he swiped it open with the card. Stepping my foot in the dark room, I felt something weird in the air- Smells like rubber?
"I feel okay, thanks for asking. You'll be having physical tests regarding speed, agility and your combat skills. Again, I'll be back in two hours until then, good luck." His phone rang as he walked away, my eyes followed him. Turning around, the lights blinked on, revealing some sort of indoor track and field and mats filled the inner oval of the tracks. I explored the room, I was about to lift the 2kg dumbbell when a cough echoed in the room.
I turned and saw a lady in her mid 40s, "Okay, hello, my name is Katherine Burdrene- Call me Kath for short and let's hop to it!" She didn't let me say anything, I shrugged.
"Okay Amora I want you to run five laps around this track,"
"Okay." It's a good thing that I decided to wear my trainers or I'll be having blisters.
"Ready, set, go!" I heard a click and I ran in a constant speed, feeling the air in my face as everything else blurred. I ran and ran, each lap I increased my speed. Sprinting the last lap, I ran. I ran away from the flashbacks. The nightmares. I ran, thinking that all my problems would be left behind me. I felt the air resisting against me but I fought it.
I passed the finish line, slowing down, I walked to where Kath was. Her mouth was open and her eyes were popping out. "Y'know a fly might enter your mouth if you keep it like that." I said, she turned her eyes on me, her eyebrows both folded in stupefaction.
Closing her mouth, she glanced at me and her timer; back and forth. She finally said, "Do you do sports?" She threw another glance at me as I stretched my left arm and not my right. Yup the life of having a cast on.
"Yeah I do," I continued on stretching my arm.
"And they are?" She lifted her left eyebrow, hanging on every word I say.
"Baseball, tennis and football," I counted my fingers, making sure I don't say track and field or tennis and the other sports I do. She slightly moved her head.
She folded her arms, giving me a look. "Run twenty laps around the track." With a nod and smile, I was at the starting line.
"Ready, set, go!" Once again, I heard the click again.
Everything was the same but I grinned at Kath this time. My adrenaline was up and I wanted more.
I took big steps towards an awestruck Kath, she spoke first, "Okay we'll be doin' some agility tests and then we'll end this test with a fight." Fight? I'm going with the flow here but I have a cast on. And what kind of fight exactly?
Nevertheless, I beamed, "Okay, do you mind if I could ask you one important question?" I grinned this time as I finished the question.
She furrowed her eyebrows, looking unsettled. "Sure." I couldn't wipe off my grin.
I tried doing the most clueless impression I could. "Who is the fastest runner of all time?" I brought my left hand to my chin, trying to think hard so she can buy the whole thing.
Although she took it seriously, which she was meant to do, I tried to hold my laughter in. It really looked like she thought through the answer, like it was one of those trivia questions. "Usain Bolt?"
The grin still on my face, "Nope, it's Adam, because he came first in the human race." My voice filled with enthusiasm- She started chuckling. I did an impression of a turtle. For some unknown reason. She tried holding it in but failed as I accidentally farted. Well that wasn't part of the plan. She bursted out, clutching her stomach.
"Okay! Agility tests! Hit me with your best shot!" I said in a sing-song voice.
~~~
"Are you ready?" Kath's voice entered my ears. I'm not tired nor breathless but I'm really nervous about the fight thing.
"Yeah since I have a cast on, maybe you can try not killing me?"
She stared at me for seconds, registering what I said and snickered. "I'm not going to fight you! That's Timmy's job!"
"Who's Timmy? Is Timmy the one who take cares of naughty girls?" I sincerely smiled at Kath; satisfied with her mood.
She chuckled again, "Timmy's a robot and no to your question. You're not even close to naughty." I grinned at her response. Wow, a robot? I mean, I know it's the CIA but a fighting robot? Two doors from the right flew open, I didn't even see those doors when I came in! An unrealistic man towering about six feet tall compared to my height. You can tell his outer features were made from plastic and rubber.
"Our tech team designed this but I'm pretty sure it's not suppose to act like that." Kath called out. I was circling around the middle of the track, Timmy fast-walked its- I mean- his way towards Kath. Say whaaaat? Timmy increased his speed towards Kath, who was nearby a corner of the room.
