103: Karaoke (Request)

This is for my sweet friend fulltime_fangirl16! I hope you like it girl!

Jess's POV:

"Okay, I'll do Mercy." He caves into my teasings.

"Yessss." I cheer, selecting it with the remote. He rolls his eyes and picks up the microphone from the stand. My friends giggle as the beginning chords start to play.

He starts to hum, barely putting anything into it.

"Oh my gosh, Shawn Mendes, I'm your biggest fan!" I scream. He smiles at me, singing through the lyrics. As he sings through, more and more passion appears and soon, his entire heart is in it, almost as if he is singing to an arena full of people singing back.

The song ends and the room is filled with cheering and applause. He comes down from the small makeshift stage and extends his hand out to me.

"Your turn." He smirks. I begin to blush.

"No way," I whine, laughing. The karaoke is scored, and I know there is no way I'll score higher than Shawn.

"Yes way, come on." He gently takes my arm and helps me stand. I groan and playfully shove him onto the couch before I walk up onto the stage.

Shawn picks my song for me, Closer by the Chainsmokers, because I absolutely kill Halsey's part.

As the song comes to an end, the points for it begin to total up. I step off the stage and look over at Shawn, who's mouth is hanging open. His eyes are locked on the screen showing my total points. I turn my head to look at the screen then burst out into laughter.

Somehow, I scored 350 points higher than Shawn.

"No. Way." I laugh. I look back at Shawn, who's somewhat still in shock. Obviously, this was all a joke, but now, this is something I'm never going to let go of.

"Dang Jess, impressive." My friends cheer. I giggle and collapse onto the couch next to Shawn.

"How?" He laughs. I lean over and place a kiss in his lips.

"Because I'm just better at karaoke."
