119: Laser Tag

Y/N's POV:

"I call being on the blue team." I say, pulling my hair into a ponytail. Shawn thanks the cashier as he takes the tickets.

"No, I wanted to be blue team." He playfully whines as he opens the door for me.

"Do you want to both be on the blue team then?" I suggest. He shakes his head.

"No, you can be the blue team. I can take the other team."

"Cool, cause I want to be able beat you." I tease. He sticks his tongue out at me like the child he is inside. We get into the laser tag arena , Shawn taking the red team and me on the blue team. Just before the doors to the game course, a video explaining the rules to the game starts.

"The rules to the game are simple. Aim your laser gun at the vests of your opponents, and never stop moving. Good luck." Just as the robotic voice ends, the doors to the dark course open, allowing all ten players into the room. I take an immediate left, hiding behind a tall rectangular block so I can look for other opponents. I quickly dart across an open pathway to a hidden ramp, which helps me see over the tall obstacles. I immediately spot the two red vests in the room, knowing Shawn is one of them. Red didn't seem to be a popular team for the other eight players, so they split up between green and blue.

Since I was standing above an obstacle, the light on my vest turns from blue to green, meaning someone on the green team was able to shoot me. I curse under my breath and start to scan the room again in the five seconds it would take for my vest to reboot. I don't see any red lights, so I run down the ramp and find a secluded corner of the course. Just as I am about to turn the corner around the black box, a red vest smacks into me. Shawn.

Without a word, he gently pushes me into the corner and places one soft kiss onto my cheek before he leans back and shoots his laser right into my vest.

"I told you I would beat you," He winks, then turns and walks away.
