88: New York, You Dork

Y/N's POV:

"You ready to rock out tonight?" I smile, tracing his lips with the pad of my pointer finger. He grabs my hand and gently places a kiss on my finger.

"Always." He grins. He moves my hand down and leans in, pushing his lips against mine.

"Mendes, soundcheck time." Andrew comes over. (A/N: I just geeked out I can't believe I was feet away from Andrew. And now I can't read this without smiling like an idiot.)

"Okay." Shawn laughs. I grab his hand and follow him into the empty venue. For the last soundcheck before the fans come in, I always stand in the center of the front row and watch him sing his heart out.

I get myself situated in the perfect center of the venue, watching the stage. When Shawn comes out with his band, I cheer and scream wildly. Blush creeps into Shawn's face and neck, and he pulls his lower lip between his teeth.

"I'm your biggest fan." I cheer. Everyone on stage chuckles.

After singing Treat You Better and The Weight, he pauses and gets the band ready to perform Bring It Back, one of my favorite songs he sings. He pulls the mic off of the stand and walks over to where he's standing above me, not breaking eye contact with me the entire time.

"This one would go out to my beautiful girlfriend, Y/N. Because I know she loves this song. But, since she isn't here, and only my biggest fan is, Y/N doesn't get a song." He teases, wiggling his eyebrows. I reach over the barrier and smack his ankle.

"You jerk." I smile. He winks at me before turning around and walking back to the mic stand. He starts to strum the notes to begin Bring It Back, and my heart flutters. Shawn makes eye contact with me as he sings the song, putting his whole heart into it.

"Thank you, New York!" He calls into the mic as the band closes up the song. He always goofs off during soundcheck. I start giggling as I race to meet him as he comes back off the stage.

"You killed it." I smile when I reach the back stage area.

"Thanks. I can't believe can't sold out a show Yew Nork." He jokes.

"It's New York, you dork."

A/N:

Awe, isn't Shawn precious? For the longest time, I called New York 'Yew Nork' just to get on people's nerves. Anyways, I get to go to New York with my chorus in April so I'm super pumped about it!
