121: Hiking

Shawn's POV:

"Come on girls, you're holding the whole group back." Ian calls to my sister and Y/N.

"Shut up, Ian. I don't want to hear it later when you are covered in bug bites and have sun poisoning." Aaliyah remarks. Y/ laughs as she rubs her calves down with sunscreen and bug spray.

"Females." I chuckle. Y/N stands from the bench she is sitting on and helps Aaliyah put the bug spray and sunscreen into their shared backpack.

"Okay, onward." Geoff calls to the group.

For our day off, we decided to spend the day hiking. The trails are gorgeous and are completely secluded in their own little area. We had to drive an hour out of the way to come here. The guys keep saying the hike will be an hour each way, and we would eat lunch, then turn around at a huge waterfall.

"I'm going to get so many good pictures for Instagram." Y/ mutters. I take her hand in mine, weaving our fingers together.

"Why don't you enjoy nature?" I suggest. She giggles, raising her phone above her head to get a picture of the sky. She then turns the phone towards me.

"Smile babe." She leans over and flips the camera into selfie mode, then snaps a quick picture.

"Awe, you guys are so cute. Now let's go, otherwise you all will be lost in the woods." Geoff calls from the front of the group.

"Don't listen to him, Y/N. He doesn't understand the importance of taking good pictures." Aaliyah falls back to where she is standing next to Y/N and I.

"Alright girls, you two can take pictures together, I'm going to go ahead and walk up with the guys." I release Y/N's hand as she goes to take another picture of the trees surrounding her.

Not half an hour later, the girls are behind us, and they're complaining nonstop.

"That's it. This is the fifth time I have had a branch scratch my leg. I can't do this any more. My feet hurt." Aaliyah complains.

"We've been hiking for forever. I'm starving. We're going to die up in these woods where no one will ever find our bodies." Y/N whines dramatically.

"Oh, suck it up guys. We're not going to die. If you are that worried about it, we've only been hiking for about half an hour. It shouldnt take you that long to get back to the car." Ian says.

"Okay, I like air conditioning better anyways." Y/N and Aaliyah turn back down the trail to escape nature.
