Chapter 5: poisonous encounter

"So I see you have caught yourself a third Pokémon" chad said as Adam petted his newly caught wurmple who gave a pleased noise"well it appears that there has been a lot of poisonous gas leaking out from one of the main towers that leads power into the gym" chad said as he pointed to a few of the club members who had been in the gym at the time the gas had been released into the atmosphere. The members were coughing and gasping for air from the poison gas"well I guess we can see what we can do about it" Adam said as he looked at his 3 Pokémon"well I guess your battle is going to have to wait again Adam" Tom said as they went inside the Pokémon center so Adam could heal his Pokémon and also talk about his plan to get rid of the poison gas that had leaked out into the city"my guess is that a poison type Pokémon may be behind this" Adam said as he typed up poison in the search bar of his pokedex causing some Pokémon who were poison type to pop up.

"Well my best guess is that this is the work of a koffing" Tom said as Adam pumped his fist in the air"I could get a cool new Pokémon to add to my team so that I can win the roria league for sure!" Adam shouted as he decided to talk over his plan with his three Pokémon that he had"ok froakie when  we get their i want you to use bubble and wurmple you use tackle while absol can guard them" Adam said.

Adam stepped into route 4 confidently and looked around the route for the source of the poison being released"well it looks as if we have reached the source of the problem" Adam said as he noticed that a few purple spikes had been shot into the electricity power grid"this can't be the work of a koffing since it does not usually have these spikes and it would have to be a large group of pokemon" Adam said as he tapped the spike causing him to be injected with a small amount of poison" Adam are you ok?" Tom said as Adam started seeing things like Tom having two heads and absol being bigger than he really should. Adam suddenly vomited out all his lunch and breakfast causing Tom to get a disgusted look on his face"well it looks like these spikes are toxic and cause anyone who touches them to get sick from the poison" Tom said as he looked around.

Froakie climbed up onto a tree to get a better look about what was happening and why the toxic spikes were in the power grid. However a sudden blur of purple slammed into froakie causing him to fall unconscious as he was dragged away further into the route. Meanwhile wurmple has gone up into a tree as well to see what was going on. She looked around the area and found a frog footprint but froakie was nowhere to be found. Just then another purple blur appeared and slammed into wurmple and then dragged her away. Back at the clearing Adam noticed wurmple and froakie were gone causing him to get worried. Tom meanwhile was walking alon when he was also attacked by a purple blur causing him to become barely conscious as he was dragged away as well. Absol stood with Adam and waited for news of Tom, froakie and wurmple. Another purple blur appeared and slammed into absol and then dragged him as well. However Adam saw and got up to chase after them.

As Adam arrived he saw absol,wurmple,froakie and Tom all tied up to a tree by a thick rope"Tom what happened!" Adam said as he started attempting to take the rope of with a sharp stick he found"well I don't know exactly what it was but a purple blur attacked me and dragged me here"tom said as absol used cut on the ropes causing the Pokémon and boy to be freed. Just then white eyes glowed in the trees. More started appearing as Adam and Tom looked around nervously"I don't think there's just one of them Adam" Tom said as the Pokémon that had white glowing eyes jumped out of the trees and revealed themselves"wow those are nidoran!" Adam said as he remembered that through he had traveled through a lot of regions he had never seen a wild nidorino"nidorino!" The wild nidorino growled as it stated at Adam angrily. Just then all the nidorino attacked at the same time making absol scoop up its trainers and fellow Pokémon and jump"ok absol I want you to use night slash!" Adam said as the wave of dark energy collect in absol as he shot out the pulse of evil energy causing most of the nidorino to faint except the one in the middle who just growled at Adam angrily.

"Alright it's your turn froakie!" Adam shouted as the blue frog hopped towards its dinosaur like opponent and growled at it as well causing the nidoran to be a bit intimidated by the small frog. that looked harmless enough. However the nidoran just laughed at the frogs feeble attempts after that and attempted to charge at it again but froakie just hopped over the attack gracefully"ok froakie use pound on the nidorino" Adam shouted as froakie gracefully hopped and then jumped preparing to start pounding his fist into nidorino rock hard body. However the nidorino just dodged and swiped froakie away with its head. Then the nidorino's horn grew purple as it shot some darts at froakie and they slammed into the frog with a powerful sting of poison causing froakie to get a fair amount of damage dealt on him"ok froakie use bubble!" Adam shouted as the circular objects filled with water hit the nidorino and caused a lot of annoyance from the dino like Pokémon. It growled at its friends causing them to get up weakly and head back further into the route where they could wait.

"Adam maybe you should try use a quick attack to evade the attacks!" Tom said as Adam nodded and used froakie quick attack to dodge each of the poisons dart that the nidorino had started shooting. It angrily grunted as froakie's fist turned white and froakie started punching nidorino until it swiped its head into froakie causing the frog to almost faint from the violent attack. The nidorino then attempted to peck the frog again prompting Adam to order froakie to dodge and use bubble angering the nidorino even further"nidorino!" It yelled as it jumped up and slammed into the frog both times with its powerful legs causing the frog to become injured even more"come on froakie hang in there, I know you took serious damage but you have to win or you won't be able to level up!" Adam shouted as froakie grew a sudden determination.

Froakie suddenly got up again and growled at its opponent. This time the nidorino was really intimidated by its foe causing it to drop its guard for a while"froakie this our chance use a pound attack!" Adam shouted as froakie slammed its fist straight into the nidorans face causing it to growl and charge forward. However froakie jumped over the nidoran and then laughed at it. This angered the nidoran more as it charged again"froakie use a pound attack on the nidoran!" Adam shouted as the frogs powerful fist made contact with the Dino's face causing it to struggle to get back up to its feet"now its time! Go pokeball!" Adam shouted as the small capsule like device struck the nidorino as it sucked it into the ball. It rolled around three times before it pinged alerting Adam that the nidorino had been caught"yes!" Adam shouted as he ran towards the pokeball.

He quickly put the pokeball and put it proudly on his belt as he sent out all of his Pokémon. Absol and wurmple looked confused at the new nidorino Adam had caught while froakie just patted the nidorino on the head causing it to smile slightly"absol and wurmple this is our new addition to the team say hi to nidoran" Adam said absol and wurmple smiled and welcomed the nidoran into the team"well Adam I think it's time to fix that power grid" Tom said as Adam looked over towards it.

Adam began mending the power grid that lead all the power towards the gym"wurmple use tackle to get these darts out of the main power grid" Adam said as wurmple obeyed and used its head to smash into the darts and get them to fall out of the power grid"absol I want you to use psycho cut so you can cut out these poison darts" Adam said as the wave of psychic energy cut into the darts causing them to fall out"now froakie I want you to use your frubbles to stick all of the wires back together" Adam said as froakie used its white bubble that were around its neck to make the wires stick back together. Half an hour later Adam and Tom had arrived back in silvent and told chad that they were ready for a gym battle"well it's getting late but what do you say to a gym battle tomorrow afternoon?" Chad said as Adam and Tom agreed.

"First gym badge here I come" Adam said as he went to bed in the Pokémon center.
