Chapter 27: a battle for rose

"Well I still don't know who to send to the pokemon lab" Adam said as he had a conversation with professor cypress who
was now back at the Pokémon lab"well bye for now,contact me when you get an idea on who to exchange for litten" The
Professor said as the call was ended leaving Adam staring at the blank screen of the phone before he turned back to get back to his room. He climbed the stairs up since he wanted to get a bit of exercise before lunch was going to be served at the Pokémon centers cafeteria. He prepared to go for his gym battle but groaned when he remembered that Quentin was currently out of the city to deal with some Pokémon issues that had been happening around the areas of anthian city and the cragnos mountains.

Adam sent out frogaider and absol and sat down to watch some Television where he learnt that something strange had happened at the anthian city gym and for now the anthian city gym was closed meaning that Adam would have to go and fight the aredia city gym for the crater badge before he could go ahead and take on the next gym leader. Adam sighed and wondered what both the aredia and the anthian city gyms used as their preferred type of Pokémon but for now decided to come up with a strategy. There was suddenly a knock at the door"come in!" Adam said as the door opened to reveal Tom"so have you thought about who you are going to use in your battle against Quentin" Tom questioned the older boy"I sort of have come up with a plan but I think that this gym is harder than others specifically because I don't have any grass or electric types that would give me an advantage in the gym and furthermore none of my Pokémon besides Beautifly I think know any grass or electric type moves" Adam explained before standing up when he heard the ringing of the lunch bell.

Adam sat down to eat lunch with the rest of the group which was pasta with some steak. Adam continued thinking about who he should exchange from his team so that he could go and get litten from proffesor cypress and kept thinking about it"I think we should explore the areas near the end of route 8" Rose said suddenly which made Adam lose his train of thought"well I guess we could go there but what is there to do there?" Adam asked the girl as she studied the travel guide that she had gotten on her Pokémon navigator"apparently a few cool Pokémon live there" Rose said as she looked back at her pokenav. Adam then went back to the phone and called Professor cypress"yes Adam? Did you choose who to send to me?" The professor asked the boy"yes I have,I would like to send Beautifly to you please" Adam said and placed the butterfly's pokeball on the transporter which faded away and was replaced with another pokeball which Adam took and put on his belt.

"Well I guess now is a good time to set off for route number eight" Rose said as the group all stood up and prepared to get ready to meet the Pokémon that they would be able to see on route 8. They slowly past the fish stalls to see if they sold anything good that they could take with them to eat if they needed to camp somewhere along the way to the next city and bought a few cooked and raw magikarp which they put into a zip lock bag which was going to be used for all their food needs. They then approached the gate and headed inside the big hill which was called route number 8 where they saw a few espurr.

The group also saw a few herdier which they thought looked quite cool. As the continued up the mountain they saw a few Swablu nesting in some trees and Adam scanned them with his increasing pokedex adding even more data into the electronic encyclopedia. The group decided to sit down for a moment and rest and also eat some of the cooked magikarp that they had bought earlier at the stall"I heard Quentin is going to be back tomorrow and also I think we will be going to aredia city once again instead of anthian for Adam's next gym battle since the gym at anthian is closed" Sally said as Adam nodded in agreement while eating the cooked fish and looking at the few pidgey,tailow and swablu that were eating food as well as the group. Adam then decided that golem would be one of the Pokémon he used in the gym battle with Quentin and sighed as he needed to decide which of his other that he would be using in the battle for the next gym badge of Adam's.
