Chapter 20:brimstone badge

"I can finally have my gym battle!" Adam shouted as the group trailed after him"shouldn't you have breakfast so you can get energy for your gym battle?" Sally asked but Adam just shook his head and continued running down to the path where the large volcano which was spewing lava was located. Adam cautiously knocked on the door as it flung open. Adam then entered the gym where he saw a large obstacle course made entirely out of lava which would require Adam to jump a lot.

Adam looked around the gym where he found a few people who were doing the obstacle course with their Pokémon and training them"is anyone else feeling hot because I'm sweating!" Sally said"well this is a fire type gym so what would you expect?" Adam asked while Rose and to,e were arguing again"well since I missed out on breakfast I guess this will be a good time to eat" Adam said as he took out the chicken sandwich that he had planed to eat and attempted to toast it in the lava. This was a big mistake because the chicken sandwich caught fire and that was the end of that"well there goes my chicken sandwich" Adam said sadly as he just opened his soda and gulped it down quickly since he was really thirst due to the hot temperatures. Adam did the obstacle course quickly and finished it before observing the battle field which was just a slice of rock in the middle of a pool of lava. Around the arena was where all the spectators could sit and watch the Pokémon battle that was taking place. Also some snacks were being served such as a chicken sandwich which Adam quickly grabbed.

"Ready for our gym battle?" Sebastian who was the brimber city gym leader said"I sure am Ive been waiting for this battle for quite a while now" Adam said as he got out a pokeball to use for his second gym battle"this battle will be between the challenger Adam and the gym leader Sebastian, it will a three on three battle and the first person to knock out all Pokémon on the opposing team wins, substitutions are allowed,Sebastian will send out his Pokémon first!" The referee said"Alright litleo lets take the stage!" The fire type gym leader said as a small fire lion appeared out of its pokeball. Adam looked at his pokedex and decided to use frogaider but decided against it at the last moment. He picked a different pokeball instead and threw it out revealing a purple dinosaur"the first battle will be between litleo and nidorino, begin!" The referee shouted as both Pokémon stared off at each other daring the other Pokémon to make the first move and see what attacks  the opposing Pokémon had.

"Adam will make the first move!" The referee shouted"Alright nidorino let's start off strong with a horn attack!" Adam shouted as the poison types horn turned white before it ran towards the other Pokémon and rammed right into it. This however failed as it seemed to hurt nidorino more than it hurt the lion. Litleo only seemed a bit dazed and managed to prepare for its attack"Alright litleo takedown!" Sebastian ordered as the lion charged forward with its head and rammed into the poison type with the full force of its body causing the dino to get flung across the room and bang its head and horn on a rock wall. Adam winced as his Pokémon struggled to get back up on its feet as of it was a bit confused and dazed"Adam you've got to switch out nidorino!" Rose shouted as she realized that the Dino's horn had gotten stuck in the rock and caused it to limitate its advanced back to the lion as the gym leader just smirked at Adam's struggles to get free.

"I mean if he uses frogaider now, frogaider might not have the strength to defeat the other two Pokémon that are going to be sent out next and then Adam will only have Beautifly and nidorino to battle" Sally said as Rose nodded grimly and continued watching"nidorino try and get free!" Adam shouted as the purple dinosaur attempted to pull its horn from the crack in the rock and it did so"NIDORINO!" It roared as it jumped back onto the battlefield and seemed to be much stronger than before know that it was powered by rage"all right nidorino use a poison sting on the rocks around the arena!" Adam shouted as everyone just watched in wonder in what Adam was doing. Instantly the rocks seemed to turn purple as if they had been poisoned by the poison sting attack"that was a smart move Adam" Sebastian said as he looked at the rocks.
