Chapter 9: arc badge

"Alright everyone let's head towards the gym!" Adam yelled as his Pokémon all cheered and followed after their trainer while panting a bit since they had just been in training"so Adam will you use absol this time?" Tom asked as Adam shook his head"no because absol is just here for backup and if a really strong Pokémon comes that will be what absol will battle" Adam said as Tom nodded thoughtfully at Adam choice to not use absol"well I guess we should head towards the gym now" Adam said as he walked towards the colorful building and knocked on the entrance before he was invited in. Before he entered he was given a badge case because the person who gave them had forgotten to give him one when he challenged the gym before. Adam nodded and said thank you before heading into the main part of the gym where people were dancing.

"Chad looked over and smiled at Adam"it seems you have returned to have a rematch and hopefully get the arc badge?" Chad said as Adam nodded eagerly"yep but this time my Pokémon have become even more strong and they will probably get me the badge" Adam eagerly said as the referee stepped into the referee box to tell all the rules like before and also to declare the winner of each match"this will be a battle between the challenger Adam and the gyms leader Chad, it will be a three on three battle,only the challenger may substitute Pokémon and the battle ends when all of either sides Pokémon are unable to battle" the ref shouted as Chad sent out his shinx while Adam grabbed a pokeball"go froakie!" Adam shouted as the frog appeared

"This battle will be between froakie and shinx! Begin!" The ref shouted as Adam prepared an ordered for his blue Pokémon"Froakie use quick attack!" Adam shouted as a streak of white light trailed after the frog. The frog looked at its opponent before slamming into the small lion causing it to wince in pain"Shinx use tackle!" Chad ordered as the electric type charged forward and prepared to smash into the waiting frog. Adam meanwhile waited patiently as the lion came even closer"now froakie jump and use bubble!" Adam ordered as the frog hopped up really high causing the lions tackle attack to narrowly miss the water type. Just then a flurry of bubbles came towards the small lion"hmmm Adam seems to have changed his strategy ever since his last gym battle with Chad since he is starting of strong" Tom said as he watched the flurry of bubbles get even closer to the electric type which was now waiting as well for the flurry of bubbles to arrive and pop on it.

"Now shinx use thunder shock!" Chad shouted as the small burst of electricity shocked all the bubbles and caused them all to Explode and turn into harmless droplets of water. Just then a stray bolt of lightning struck the small frog casing it to go flying towards the ceiling. Just then Adam had remembered what John had said the day before about type advantages not being everything in a Pokémon battle"Froakie use water pulse!" Adam shouted as the crystal clear ball of blue water formed in the frogs hands as he prepared to fire it at the lion. However Chad was more than ready to count the big ball.

"Shinx dodge and use tackle!" Chad shouted as the lion charged forward and attempted to slam into the blue frog. However froakie jumped over the attack and prepared to strike on Adam's order"Froakie use pound!" Adam shouted as the frogs fist suddenly turned white as the Pokémon prepared to slam its fist right into the electric type and knock it out to reduce chads pokemon"shinx use electricity on your fur!" Chad shouted as the small frog slammed Its hand into the lion causing it to get electrocuted and faint"froakie is unable to battle,Adam choose your next Pokémon!" The referee shouted as Adam returned froakie and grabbed his next pokeball"nidorino I choose you!" Adam shouted as the purple Dinosaur smashed down on the battlefield and caused it to crack under the sheer weight of the Pokémon. Nidorino then growled at its opponent

"Ok shinx this is our second opponent to beat use spark!" Chad said as the small bolt of electricity shot forward and almost slammed into the purple Pokémon"nidorino jump over the attack and use peck!" Adam shouted as his Pokémons beak turned white and then nidorino slammed its beak into the lion causing it to cry out in pain from the attack even though it wasn't effective"get back up shinx we must deafeat nidorino to make it easier for our other Pokémon! Now use charge beam!" Chad shouted as the little lion shot out a pure beam of electricity which hit the other Pokémon head on causing it to go flying and slam into the gyms walls"no nidorino!" Adam shouted. The purple Dino got up suddenly and was more angry then ever.
