Chapter 22: sixth pokemon

The group had stopped at a pit stop on their way to lagoona lake and were sitting down to eat their lunch. Meanwhile a rock creature was watching them silently in the bushes"Come out everyone!" Adam said as the five pokeballs burst open showing all of the Pokémon that Adam had caught in roria so far"this is pansear everyone" Adam said as all of Adam's Pokémon smiled at the new addition welcomingly. The group were currently only about half an hours walk away from lagoona lake but they would need to stay there overnight since the walk to Rosecove would be at least 7 hours which they didn't have the time for today. Rose also released her Pokémon and Tom got vulpix out. In total the group had nine Pokémon between them. Sally got some Pokémon food and fed the Pokémon the food in their bowls. Meanwhile Adam was thinking about who would be the best choice to take into the gym battle he was gonna have against Quentin who was the gym leader of Rosecove city.

The group then recalled all of their Pokémon back to their pokeballs and continued walking down the path that would take them to lagoona lake where Adam could relax more and think better of who to use in his battle for his next gym badge. Finally the group reached the gates that led into lagoona lake and were astounded by the beauty of it. To the right there was an observatory that seemed to be where the group could visit if they had to stay longer then they intended to. There was also a skate park and day care to the left of the town, but the first thing the group needed to do was to check into the Pokémon center for rooms"it looks even better in real life" Rose said breathlessly as she stared around the small town. Just then a scientist approached them and he seemed to look a bit scared an annoyed at the same time. Adam decided to check into the Pokémon center while the rest of the group decided to ask the scientist what was bothering him. Adam asked nurse joy to check them into the Pokémon center for two days and one night and then went back to the group.

"Well there's been this Pokémon that's been wrecking everything that we have been trying to study in the lab!" The man said angrily as he showed a piece of equipment that had been damaged due to the Pokémon smashing a bit of glass from the top causing a bit of water to spill onto the documents"could you help us to catch this pesky Pokémon" the scientist asked as the group agreed that they could"do you know what the Pokémon was?" Adam said but the scientist shook his head" I didn't get a good look at it but I would say that it was either a rock or a ground type which are very annoying to us scientists to deal with" the scientist said as Adam decided to try and look up which Pokémon were rock and ground type Pokémon.

The group then headed of to go and try find where the source of the disturbance was since they learnt that it was no longer in the observatory. Meanwhile the rock creature had been spying on the group who had decided to look for it on route 8. It decided to observe for now to see which Pokémon would be a good match for it to battle against since it wanted to increase its strength. It decided in absol first but decided that absol would be too hard so instead decided that frogaider would be a good match for it to battle against"maybe we should be looking in an area where it seems that there is a rock slide or something since this Pokémon is technically a rock and ground type" said Rose smartly as the group agreed that it would be a good idea to look for it in areas that looked like those. They creature smiled as the group came closer to its position.

"Come on out guys!" Adam said as he sent out his Pokémon so that they could help him find the creature and put an end to the equipment being destroyed once and for all. Frogaider and absol stayed with Adam while pansear went with Sally, Beautifly went with Rose and nidorino went with Tom. The group split up and went in the different directions to search for the Pokémon even harder. As Adam got closer the creature got ready to pounce out and surprise him with its attack it had learnt"GOLEM!" It shouted as it used a rollout attack and flew up into the air before uncurling as the rest of the group cam rushing back to check what was going on in the area that Adam was in. Adam's Pokémon came back to stand beside him. Adam used his pokedex and it correctly identified the Pokémon as a golem who was both a rock and also a ground type. The group were all surprised that a golem had caused a hole in the glass since they had expected a fighting type to have made the hole.
