tyler walked out of civics class, after failing his final exam. he hung his head low not wanting to talk to anyone right now. he strolled over to his locker, shoving his books in it forcefully. he didn't understand why he was so hard on himself for failing, but he was.
"um-" he heard someone clearing their throat from behind his locker door. he knew exactly who it was from the bit of yellow hair catching his eye. "so are like, you and jenna a thing now?" the yellow haired boy played with the end of his shirt. tyler scoffed loudly, slamming his locker making josh widen his eyes in surprise. the brunette picked up his feet, stumbling away. josh followed, grabbing his hand to stop him from speeding up.
"tyler, please just talk to me." josh spoke, his voice dry and full of sadness. tyler tried pulling himself from the others grip, only catching more people's attention. "tyler-" josh became concerned as his eyes dampened.
the brunette soon became impatient and annoyed with everything. first he failed a major test and now this. "josh!" tyler grunted ripping the yellow haired boys arm off his. "stop it, okay! i'm not up for this today. just, leave me alone!" tyler spat, his face becoming a light shade of red from embarrassment.
josh exhaled sharply. it was almost like all the air he's ever breathed just came out with one simple breath. he felt a hot tear stream down his face and onto his trembling lips. at that moment he felt weak, so weak.
he watched tyler walk away with blurry vision. why would he say something like that? josh pulled himself back to reality, seeing groups of people staring at him. some with sorrow, and some snickering to themselves. he quickly wiped his eyes with the sleeve of his jacket. he didn't say anything to anyone, he just jolted past the crowd and into the nearest bathroom.
when he got into the restroom, he leaned against the bathroom sink. his eyes were red, puffy as he examined his state in the mirror. he really was a wreck.

"i'm home mom! jenna's with me." tylers voice rang through the house as soon as he walked through the door. he walked straight up the stairs with jenna following close behind. he heard his mom reply a quick 'okay' as they raced into tylers room.
"so," jenna plopped herself onto the middle of tyler bed, picking up one of his pillows in the process while holding it firmly. "you gonna tell me what that 'kiss' was all about today?" she let go of the pillow to make quotation marks with her fingers on the word 'kiss'. her lips curled into a slight smirk, lifting her eyebrows suggestively.
"ugh." tyler groaned, situating himself next to jenna while laying on his stomach. "so, the reason i kissed you was because i saw josh and i didn't really wanna talk to him then and now i feel really bad about it because later today he came up to me and i yelled at him because i failed my civ-" tyler rambled making jenna's eyes grow wide, trying process the fast words escaping his mouth.
"tyler, calm down." she giggled, shaking her head. "so what's going on with you and josh?" she questioned not catching it the first time from tylers fast paced words. "i-um, we're fighting? i don't really know. i've been avoiding him and i don't know why. it's only making it worse." the brunette sighed, burying it in his duvet.
jenna placed her hand on tylers back, moving her hand in small motions to comfort him. "maybe you should talk to him, and obviously apologize." the blonde stated. "you're right." tyler lifted his head from the covers, resting it on his crossed arms in front of him. "i didn't mean to be rude to him, i was just pissed. that ass mr. whiting always fails me. i swear he hates me." tyler rolled his eyes, clearly still upset about his grade.
"okay, but you better apologize first thing tomorrow." jenna started "about everything, tyler." she narrowed her eyes at the boy in front of her. "i know. i promise i will. i need to."
