Jaehee's Pov

I wasn't sure if I should look at him or look down at my hands instead, I was totally lost especially when he was only a meter away from me.

Why was I feeling this way? I had never felt like this towards anyone  before in my life.

He tried really hard to break the chain and just when I was about to speak my mind, somebody interrupted.

The person was dressed up like the man from earlier but somehow his aura felt a bit different than the other guy.

How many vampires are there?

"Wolfboy, fancy meeting you here. Have you also come to enjoy the party? You must be either stupid or brave to come here alone without your bodyguards backing you up." I saw a tint of smirk under the hood he had over his head.

"What do you want?" said Luhan as he stood up and glared at the vampire, his knuckles were turning white.

"It's not WHAT I want, it's WHO I want and I'm pretty sure you know who I'm talking about."

Luhan glanced at me for a split second before giving his attention back to the man. "Why do you want to kill us so badly? Why can't we just forget about this war between our races?"

The man laughed as though he had just heard something funny. "You actually think we can all live together? You must be joking," he scoffed, "Foolish half-breed.  Vampires will never breathe the same air as those mangy beast."

I didn't know what got over me but I just couldn't hear the insults coming from this guy's mouth. "Shut up! The wolves are good people unlike you, bloodsucking vampires!"

I was suddenly in the center of attention when they turned their heads and looked at me. Maybe I shouldn't have said something.

"Good? Pfft, good people are old schools. Don't you know the world these days? They have a thing for villains."

"In your dreams!" I hissed at him.

Oh my god, I'd be dead if he decided to attack me. But I just couldn't sit around and hear these garbage coming from him. "Good people have good intentions and bad people have bad intentions and because of those bad intentions, chaos will occur and we

need no such thing in this world."

"What do you know about chaos?" The vampire was no longer smiling as he glared at with such hatred. "Enough talking. I don't need to hear any more of this, especially not by some immature little girl like you. I'll let you live this time but the next time we meet, it'll be the end for all of you. Make sure you tell the others. Farewell half-breed." Said the man as he faded into darkness.

After he was gone, Luhan tried again and eventually he managed to break the chain, I was finally free from the pain but I noticed the stern expression he had on his face.

"You should have just stayed quiet." When he said that, I felt my willpower coming back to me all at once, I pinched both of his cheeks which surprised him.

"Luhan, I know this doesn't mean much to you but I want to be the source of your strength. I can't sit at the sidelines all the time and watch you trying your best to protect me, to protect all of us. If you ever find yourself in sticky situations or if you feel like giving up, then lean on us because we will definitely be there to lend you our strength." I smiled as I tried my best to reassure him.

I wasn't going to be the useless member of the group anymore. I'm going to try my best to protect my loved ones as well.

What shocked me was when Luhan wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me into a tight embrace.

"Thank you..." he said.

The warmth and sincerity coming from his words had moved me until I could no longer hold in the tears that were itching to fall.

I hope that from now on, things will change and get better for the two of us.
