Ayato was walking down the street, eyes cast towards the sidewalk below before feeling a hand on his shoulder. He jumped away turning around to see Kaneki.
"Oh it's you"
"Listen Ayato, I'm going to talk to Touka, she had a long day and you must have known she'd react this way initially"
"Yeah, I just didn't know it would hurt so much, everything she said was true"
"Hey, the fact that you can acknowledge that shows growth"
He gave a sad smile.
"I want to make it up to my sister, but I don't know how"
"It's simple"
Ayato looked Kaneki in the eyes.
"Don't give up on her... look, I've been around Touka for awhile now and have gotten quite close to her. She values family and loyalty above all else, just be family and don't abandon her"
He looked as if in deep thought before responding.
"...You're right, when did you start giving advice Eyepatch?"
"Heh experience I guess, I'd appreciate it if you called me Kaneki"
"Alright... Kaneki... What should I do now?"
"You wait. Don't come around for now. I'll let you know"
"Thanks man... can I ask a serious question?"
Kaneki raised an eyebrow.
"How do you put up with her? Touka's always been stubborn and headstrong" He smirked.
"Well...she's not as cold as she seems, I personally think she just cares deeply about those around her and is scared to open up and get hurt. She has a lot of barriers, but I guess in our time working together I got through them. She's actually more intimate, sweet and even cuddly than she'd ever allow me to admit haha"
"That's hard to believe haha"
"I'm told I have a naïve boyish charm that girls like. Which I don't know I feel about to be honest"
"Definitely not the side I've seen from you..." He actually smiled.
Kaneki thought about the side Ayato "saw"... The beating he was forced to put on him.

He nodded and continued walking away for a second before turning back.

Kaneki nodded as well before heading back to the cafe.
Once arriving back at Anteiku, he locked up once again shutting the cafe down before heading upstairs to check on Touka. He knocked lightly on her door.
