Nick was talking about a Batman movie enthusiastically while I paid close attention and smiled at him.

"Watch out," he says, interrupting my thoughts about him.

I continue serving drinks and keeping up the small talk with him. Once it seems that everyone at the bar has what they've ordered we both stepped back.

"You're amazing," I tell him and he laughs.

"You're quite special yourself, Violet."

"Why, thank you," I say.

Just then my phone began to ring.

"Excuse me," I say as I walk away from Nick.

Topher.

"Hello?" The call drops.

I try to call him back but he doesn't answer, then I get a text message from him.

Meet me at your place ASAP.

Why?

911 emergency.

I debate whether to go or not go, and by that I mean whether to leave Nick or not leave Nick.

"Hey, Nick," I speak.

"Yeah?" he turns around.

"I'm so sorry to do this to you but I have a family emergency."

"Oh... I can take your place I gue-"

"Thanks a lot!" I say as I grab my bag and proceed to walk out.

I arrive at my place in about ten minutes.

I stay stood in the corridor when I see my door was open.

I walk in slowly and cautiously.

"What the hell are you doing here!" I shout and drop my stuff.

Alex was stood in my kitchen.

"Hey, love," he smiles at me. "You have nothing to eat in here, let's order something."

"How the fuck did you get in here?"

"It's called picking a lock," Alex looked at me like I was dumb.

"It's called trespassing," I corrected him.

"Don't be so dramatic, it's not like I went through your panty drawer. I came straight to the kitchen. Just got here, honestly."

"Get out," I stated.

"Whoa, can't really kick people out of an apartment you're not even paying for."

My jaw dropped.

I can see he regretted what he said.

I then saw the notice on the kitchen counter. This is beyond embarrassing.

"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean it like that. I'm such an idiot."

"Just get out," I stated once again.

He begins to walk over.

He grabs both my shoulders reluctantly, knowing I'm about to punch him in the face.

"I'm sorry, again. God I'm such a dick," Alex shakes his head.

"Yeah, you are," I whisper.

"I'm really not like this Violet, let me show you."

I just look up at him.

"You're an idiot," I say.

"I'm sorry. Tell you what, I'll go get some take out, come back here and we can pretend like I didn't just say that or you can keep insulting me for the rest of the night if it makes you feel better."

"Sounds like a plan," I smile.

"Are you serious?" he asks.

"Yeah," I keep on smiling.

"I'll be right back then," he smiles back. "Anything you want in specific?"

"Not really. I already got you out of my apartment," I smirk and slam the door in his face.

"I deserve that," I can hear him say though the door.
