"Morning Kaolin" I said, hopping up on the counter next to him.

"Good morning, Kara" he said.

"What are you making?" I asked, looking into the pan on the stove.

"Eggs...you seem to be in an awfully good mood" he smiled.

"I kind of am" I said.

"And why is that?" He asked, smirking.

"The king gave me my job back" I said.

"See? Was it that hard just to go and ask him?" He asked.

"No, I'm just glad that I did it" I said.

"Yeah, me too. Now he can stop talking about it" he said, rolling his eyes.

"He talked about it?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Complained about it" he said.

"Really?" I asked.

"Yes, it was so annoying" he said.

"Oh" I said, not really know how to reply to that.

"Here take his breakfast up to him...he's in bed" he told me, holding a tray up to me.

"Alright" I said, taking the tray and heading up to the kings chambers.

"Is that for me?" Matthew asked as I walked by him in the hallway. Damn, Ed didn't tell him that I wasn't his servant anymore, yet.

"Uh, no...it's for the king" I said, he furrowed his eyebrows.

"What do you mean?" He asked, scanning my face.

"Yeah...I work for him now..." I said, quickly turning around, scurrying to the kings chambers at the end of the hall.

"Wait...you what?" He asked, catching my free hand.

"I'm not your servant anymore, Matthew" I said.

"Why not?" He asked.

"I...just-I like working for the king" I said.

"I can't believe that," he laughed, "you like working for my brother?"

"Yeah...I do" I said.

"Wow, that's...I do not understand" he said, shaking his head.

"He's not as bad as you think....I have to go" I said, tuning around again.

"He's not as bad as I think? What does that mean?" He asked, following behind me.

"I can't talk about this right now, I have things to do" I said, brushing him off.

"So, you quit working for me...so you could go back and work or my brother? Is this a power thing?" He asked, I stopped, tuning to face him.

"A power thing?" I asked.

"Yeah, because he's the king, and I am not?" He asked.

"No! Of course not, I don't give a damn who he is!" I said.

"Then why do you want to work for him so bad?" He asked.

"I don't know!" I said, getting angry.

"It is a simple question" he pushed.

"I have to go" I mumbled, starting to walk away again.

"Why won't you just answer me?!" He asked, making a grab for my arm again.

"Matthew, why don't you go find someone else to harass?" King Edward asked, exiting his room.

"Did you know she quit working for me, so she could work for you?" He asked, the king nodded slowly.
