"Patience," I snapped.

"What?" He asked, leaning up against the door, waiting for me to finish.

"You need to have patience," I said again.

"I'm a king, I don't have time for patience, nor do I want it," he said.

"Well, you need it," I argued.

"I do not...you just need to hurry up," he snapped.

"I'm doing your laundry, why don't you be quiet?" I said.

"I can't be quiet, it's not how I was raised," he said.

"Then go somewhere else until I'm finished."

"No," he said, walking in to go sit in a chair. "I'd rather watch you."

"Then keep you mouth shut, please," I sighed.

"Fine," he mumbled, putting his face in his hands, his eyes following my movements. "Alright, I'm bored."

"I figured," I said, smirking over at him. He got up from his chair, walking over to me.

"I'm sure I can find a more important matter to attend to in the throne room," he said, wrapping his arms around my waist.

"Probably," I nodded. He leaned in to gently press his lips to mine.

"Come find me when you are finished here," he said, walking towards the door.

"Alright," I sighed, throwing another dirty shirt in the water.

When I finished with his laundry, I brought it back to his chambers before making my way to the throne room. When I walked in, I saw Ed talking to Kaolin. The first thought that ran into my head was my mother, her and Kaolin are planning something. And I have a feeling that it isn't good.

I walked out, catching their attention.

"Ah, Kara...finished already?" Ed asked, smirking at me.

"Yes...Sire," I said, bowing to him. The smirk suddenly left his face, he locked his jaw. I knew he hated when I called him Sire.

"Kaolin, will you please leave us?" The king asked, his gaze still fixed on me.

"Yes, Sire." Kaolin said, looking between us, confused. Once Kaolin left the room, King Edward got up out of his throne, slowly walking down the steps, towards me.

"You know, I hate it when you call me, Sire." He said, standing in front of me.

"I know," I said, smiling.

"You think that's funny?" He asked, taking another step closer.

"Oh, it's hilarious," I whispered.

He took a final step, pressing his body against mine.

"Have you finished your chores?" He whispered in my ear.

"Yes," I said, feeling his hot breath on my neck.

"Good," he said, sweeping me off the ground. I squealed in surprise, quickly rapping my arms around his neck. "Sorry, did that scare you?"

"Where are we going?" I asked, as he started to walk out of the throne room.

"My chambers," he said, smirking.

"Oh?" I asked, raising my eyebrow.

He smiled, pressing his lips on mine.

The next morning I woke up alone. Ed had a meeting. I sighed, sitting up, looking around the room. The sun had just risen and there were no clouds in the sky.

"It's a beautiful day," someone said from the corner, startling me.

"What in the hell are you doing in here?!" I yelled.

"I saw the king leave and I thought it would be a great chance to...clear things up," Matthew said, walking over to sit next to me on the bed.

"Clear what up?" I asked, scooting away from him.

"This whole...thing," he said.

"What thing?" I asked, feeling my hands start to sweat.

"You saw me, under the hood," he started.

"Yes?" I said, urging him to continue.

"You know," he said.

"Know what?" I asked, my throat feeling dry.

"You know who I am," he said.

"You know if the king finds you here, he'll have your head," I blurted, I was scared shitless.

"He won't find me here...and you won't tell him about this," he said, getting up from the bed.

"Why not?" I asked.

"Because, if you do...I'll kill you, and make him watch...then, I'll shove the sword through his chest!" He said, getting into my face.

"Ed is going to kill you," I seethed, feeling the anger bubbling inside me.

"Yes, well, I'm not the only one he should be worried about," he said, oddly calm as he paced around the room.

"What does that mean?" I asked.

"There are other people in this castle who want him dead," Matthew said, a smile breaking onto his face.

"Like who?" I asked, walking over to him.

"One of the people who are the closest to him," he said.

I thought for a moment, racking my brain for who it could be. Then it hit me.

"Kaolin..." I whispered.

"You're a quick one!" He said, chuckling.

"You're lying!" I said, my voice getting louder.

"Why would I lie about this?" He asked.

"To get the king off your ass," I spit.

"Maybe...but maybe not," he said, raising an eyebrow as a way of taunting me.

"You're mad," I said, turning away from him.

"I know that," he said, grabbing my shoulder to turn me back around, "but you need to start watching your back."

"Are you threatening me?" I asked.

"No, but there are other people who want you dead," he said.

"Who?" I asked.

"I've already told you that," he said.

"Kaolin?" I asked.

"Maybe."

"Is he working with you?" I asked.

"Maybe."

"Stop playing games!" I yelled.

"I already told you, Kaolin wants the king dead more than anyone, and he will stop at nothing to make that happen."
