It had just started to rain, when I reached the edge of the woods. My body was shaking from the cold, my dress was full of mud as I gazed at the large castle in front of me. It was still quite a ways away, it would at least take me until morning to get there, which means, much to my dismay, I have to make the journey in the rain.I ran out of the trees, the rain pelting my skin angrily, it was almost painful. I could feel the sharp sticks and rocks cutting at the skin under my feet, but I kept running.
As I ran it got harder to see, the rain was beating down harder now. I tripped on a tree branch sticking out of the ground, I fell in the mud, scratching my arms and face on loose branches as I fell.
"Damn," I hissed, looking down at my cut up arms. I sighed, getting up off the ground. I looked down, realising that I had landed in a mud puddle. "Seriously?!" I started to try and brush some of the mud off my dress, but then I heard something move in the trees behind me, I looked around...seeing nothing. But then I heard it again, someone had to be out there.
Worried it was Oliver...I started to run again, forgetting about the mud on me.
As I got closer to the castle, I slowed down, I could see the lights through the windows, I could see the kings chambers from here, his light was on.
"Halt! Stop there!" Someone yelled, I froze. "What is your business on castle grounds?"
"Uhh...I'm here to see the king?" I tried, the guard walked closer to me, squinting to see my face.
"Kara...?" He breathed, "you're Kara, right?"
"Yeah...?" I asked, confused.
"I must take you to the king immediately," he said, "come with me."
I followed him through the night, eager to get out of this damn rain.
"King Edward has been looking everywhere for you," the knight said.
"I have heard," I mumbled.
"Thank god you are back, we were fearing he was going to lose his mind," he said. "I guess that's just what love does to a person."
"Love?" I asked.
"Well, yes. I'm sure he loves you," he said, chuckling a little.
"What's you name?" I asked.
"Sir Bleu, but you can just call me Bleu." He said, smiling at me through the dark.
"Alright," I said, looking down at my feet as we walked.
"How did you get away?" He asked.
"I just ran," I said.
"You must be a damn fine runner," he chuckled.
"I guess," I said, smiling.
"The king is going to be thrilled to see you," Bleu said, as we neared the castle gates. "You are all that he thinks about...he doesn't even sleep anymore."
"He doesn't sleep?" I asked, he shook his head.
"He was too busy thinking about how he could get you back," Bleu laughed.
"Oh," I mumbled, Bleu stopped in front of the gates, waiting for the guards to open them.
"Bleu, aren't you supposed to be on guard?" One of the knights at the gate asked.
"I am, I came across someone the king would really like to see," Bleu said, looking over to me.
"Oh?" The guard asked, stepping closer to get a better look at me. "Who is she?"
