The week went by quickly, the ball was already tomorrow night. I had successfully avoided the king, he hasn't so much as sparred a glance my way. We've been avoiding each other like the plague.

"What do you think Ed's going to do when he finds out that you are going with Bleu?" Harry asked.

"He's going to be angry, especially because I just told him that I loved him. God what was I thinking?!" I yelled.

"You were scared he was actually going to let himself die, weren't you?" He asked, kicking a rock in his path.

"He said he had nothing to live for...so I gave him something." I told him.

"Have you even seen him since you told him?" He asked.

"Yes, but he won't even look at me," I mumbled.

"Maybe you should talk to him," he suggested.

"No, I'll let him come to me," I said.

"Alright," he said.

"Will you please come tomorrow, be my support?" I asked, he sighed, "please?"

"Fine, but you'll owe me," he said, pointing his finger at me.

"Agreed," I said.

"But...Kara, if you really love Ed, why don't you just let him in?" Harry asked.

"I don't know...because, he's a king?" I tried.

"No, thats not it," he said.

"I'm scared, Harry," I confessed.

"Scared?" He asked.

"I'm scared of him...of what he brings," I mumbled.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"I'm scared of letting him in, being with someone like him...he's amazing, and, he's a king, I mean...how many people can say they fell in love with a king?" I asked.

"I have no idea," he said, smiling. "I think you should give him a chance."

"You don't even know him, Harry," I said.

"Yes, but the way you talk about him makes him sound amazing...I think I need to find myself a king," he said, I laughed.

"They can be pretty amazing, I guess." I said.

"But, you're going to the ball with Bleu...why?" He asked.

"He asked me...and I didn't know how to say no," I said.

"You just say no," he told me chuckling a little.

"I know, but I panicked, he's such a nice guy," I sighed.

"But you want the king," Harry pointed.

"Listen to how bad that sounds," I mumbled.

"Well, the king wants you too," he said, looking up.

"How could you possibly know that? I mean I don't even-"

"Look," he said, lifting my head.

"What's he doing out here?" I asked myself.

"Is that the king?" Harry asked, in shock.

"It is," I said, frozen in my spot as Ed approached me.

"He's coming this way...oh god," Harry gasped.

"Shut up," I snapped, my eyes still locked with the king, his on mine.
