I watched as people swarmed into the dining hall. Unfortunately, Kara wasn't one of them.I sat alone, so many emotions that I hadn't felt in...well, a long time were surfacing. The most common one for me was anger, but now, I feel...sad, and...disappointed. I made a mistake not telling Jackson no right away. I honestly don't know why I didn't.
"Wine, Sire?" Leroy, a servant asked, looking down at me expectingly.
"Yes, thank you," I grumbled, pinching my eyebrow. He poured a glass before nodding at me and walking away.
I saw Jackson walk in, I quickly got up pushing through the crowd to get to him.
"Ahh, your Majesty," he said, bowing when he saw me.
"He need to talk," I growled in his ear.
"Alright," he said, his eyes roaming around the room.
I took him out into the hallway, escaping the chatter of the people inside the dining hall.
"What is it, Ed?" He asked, an amused look on his face.
"Its Sire," I corrected him, that wiped the look off his face.
"What?" He asked, confused.
"You asked for Kara's hand in marriage, knowing she was with me," I whispered harshly.
"You didn't seem to care earlier," he said, shaking his head.
"That doesn't mean I'm going to give her to you, she's not my property, if you want her...then you should have asked her yourself," I said.
"Alright, maybe I will then," he said.
"Don't do it, Jackson," I warned.
"It's not like you can marry her anyway, Ed. You're the king, and she's your servant," he said.
"She's not going to marry you either," I said, anger taking over my other emotions.
"What makes you think that?" He asked.
"Just stay away from her, Jackson," I snapped, getting ready to walk back into the dining hall. He grabbed my arm, the guards near by took a step forward, seeing him as a threat to me. I waved them off.
"We'll see about that, Sire," he said, glancing at the guards before letting go of me. With that, he walked back into the dining area. I waved once of the guards over.
"Go keep an eye on Kara, don't let Sir Madden near her," I told him, he nodded before walking down to Kara's chambers.
I went back into the dining hall, people turned to watch me walk in. I smiled at them as I walked back up to the royal's table. I sat back in my spot at the middle, the other royals that resided in the castle sat on either sides of me.
Bleu stood behind me, looking out in the crowd. He bent over to whisper in my ear.
"Sire, where is Kara?" He asked.
"She's not coming," I whispered lowly.
"Oh," he said, standing back up straight. I sighed, turning to look back at him. I waved him closer.
"Thank you. For everything you do around here, I appreciate it," I said.
"Oh, well...thank you, Sire," he said, smiling at me.
I nodded, turning back to the crowd. Everyone was talking and having a good time. I locked eyes with Jackson, he was watching me intently from his seat on the other end of the room. I sighed, breaking my gaze when I heard a scream from the other side of the room. I scurried to my feet, looking around for the problem.
