King Edward's outfit in this chapter
I groaned as I opened my eyes, the harsh light blinding me. I tried to move, but Ed's grip was too tight around my waist. I heard him groan, he sucked in a deep breath, clearing his throat. He sighed, moving his arm so it was tighter around me.
"Morning," I said, smiling.
"Mmm, no, go back to sleep," he mumbled tiredly.
"It's late," I whispered.
"And?" He asked.
"Don't you have meetings?" I asked.
"Yes," he said.
"Then we should get up," I suggested.
"No," he said again, tightening his grip when I tried to move.
"Ed, I have to get dressed," I scolded.
"No," he said.
"Ugh," I sighed, giving up.
"You know you have to marry me now, right?" He asked, smiling, his eyes still closed.
"Are you proposing?" I asked.
"No, but we have to get married," he said.
"Why is that?" I asked.
"I took your virtue," he said.
"So?" I asked.
"No one else is going to want you if you're not a virgin," he said.
"We can't get married, Ed," I sighed.
"Why not?" He asked, opening his eyes.
"I'm not a royal," I said.
"That doesn't matter," he said, playing with a strand of my hair.
"But it does..." I sighed.
"But-"
"If I asked you to marry me...would you do it?" He asked, looking me in the eyes.
I thought for a moment...of course I would love to marry him, but of I really think about it, I can't run a country, and I'm certainly not a royal...what would people think?
"No," I said, biting my lip, avoiding eye contact with him.
"Ever?" He asked.
"I don't know...probably not," I said.
"Alright," he sighed, getting up. He grabbed his pants, pulling them up his legs. "Where the hell is my belt?"
"Over there," I mumbled, pointing to the other side of the room. He walked over, snatching it off the floor, putting it between the loops, before walking over to his closet and grabbing the rest of his outfit.
"Are you angry with me?" I asked.
"Of course I am," he mumbled, shaking his head with his back turned towards me. "Why does title matter?"
"It just does, Ed," I sighed.
"I don't get it, I love you...why should me being a king or not matter?" He asked angrily.
"I don't know-"
"Are you worried that, if you married me...maybe one day, a queen will come a long? Or I'll make you run my whole kingdom?" He asked.
"No, Ed-"
"Please, spare me your excuses," he snapped, walking over to put his boots on.
I watched silently as he put them on his feet, finally he sighed looking up at me.
