They got back to the castle just after dark.

"Damn, I think King Edward is out of his meeting," Bleu said, noting that the lights were on in the kings chambers.

"Yeah. Thank you, Bleu...for take me out tonight," Kara said, turning to him.

"It was my pleasure, Kara...but you must not tell the king it was I who did so," Bleu said.

"I will not, I promise." Kara said.

"Alright...goodnight, Kara." He said.

"Goodnight, Bleu." She said, smiling at him before turning to walk up the stairs, to the kings chambers.

When Kara entered the chambers, she was met with a very angry king.

"Where have you been?" He asked, as soon as she walked in.

"Uh-" she started.

"Who took you out to town?" He asked.

"You just asked me where is was-how did you know I went out to town?" She asked.

"The ladies in the kitchen told me they saw you leaving with a knight, I'm guessing it was Sir Bleu?" Ed said.

"Calm down, I went alone," Kara said.

"Do not lie to me," he said.

"I'm not," she said.

"The ladies-"

"The ladies saw me leaving the grounds...alone," Kara said, cutting him off.

"Why did you go out?" He asked, she knew he was getting angrier the more she lied to him.

"To see a friend," she said.

"And you did not think to tell me first?" He asked.

"No, because I knew you would not let me go," she said, he took a deep breath.

"How am I supposed to keep you safe if you keep doing things like this?" He asked, giving her an intense look.

"Maybe I do not need you to protect me," she said quietly.

"Really? That's what you thought before you got snatch out of the castle by that man!" He yelled.

"How is that my fault?!" She yelled back.

"I never said it was!" He said.

"But it is, isn't it?!" She yelled, pacing around the room. "You need someone to blame so you don't feel so guilty!"

"Are you accusing me of letting you get taken?!" He yelled, his face turning red with anger.

"No!" She yelled, "I'm just saying you don't need to follow me around like a lost puppy!"

"You better watch what you say to me," he growled.

"Or what? Are you going to send me back to Oliver...or hang me like your father did to his wife?" Kara spit. The king froze, surprised by her words. The minute she said them, she regretted it. He just stood there, staring at the ground, his mind somewhere else.

"Ed-" she stared.

"Don't." He said, putting his hand up to silence her. "Is that really what you think of me?"

"I-"

"Just answer the question!" He yelled.

"No," she whispered.

"What? I didn't hear you," he said.

"No! I said no!" Kara yelled.

"Do you think I'm my father?" He asked, stepping closer to her.
