*The dress Kara wears to the ball is on top

"I. Look. Ridiculous" I said, looking down at the dress covering my body.

"No, you really don't...you look beautiful," Kaolin said, inspecting his work, "the king will drool over you."

"Thank you," I said, feeling the heat rise in my cheeks, "what of you Kaolin, do you fancy anybody?"

"Ha...me, fancy someone? That is a laugh" he said, chuckling.

"Why?" I asked, ruffling the dress.

"Because, I'm...me, and they are them. We just don't work together," he said, shrugging, "I just enjoy indulging in...activities."

"Ooh, Kaolin you rascal" I said, smirking at him.

"That's me" he laughed.

"Have you ever been to one of these?" I asked, looking at him through the mirror.

"Not with a woman, I have worked at them through" he said.

"What are they like?" I asked.

"Rude and condescending" he said.

"Not the people you idiot, the dancing and stuff?" I asked.

"Oh, that's amazing. The dances are everyone's favourite because we are actually aloud to go" he said, making some adjustments to my dress.

"What do you mean you are aloud to go now?" I asked.

"When John was the king, he never wanted his servants there, worrying it would give him a bad name. I guess King Edward just doesn't care about that" Kaolin explained.

"I can't do this" I blurted, walking away from him.

"Hey! I'm not done with that dress, get back over here" he said.

No," I shook my head, "I cannot do this."

"Why not?" Kaolin asked, sighing.

"He's a king" I said.

"Your point being?" He asked, putting his hands on his hips. "Get back over here so I can finish that." I slowly walked back over to him, standing in front of the mirror as he worked on tightening the dress.

"Are you trying to kill me?" I asked as he yanked it tighter.

"What?" He asked, confused.

"I can't breathe" I said, trying to catch my breath.

"Oh, oops. Sorry" he said.

"What if something bad happens?" I asked, biting my lip.

"You need to stop worrying, it'll be fine" Kaolin said.

"I can't, a million things could go wrong" I said.

"Yes, that is true, but you needn't worry about that" he said, tightening my dress again.

"Kaolin!" I yelled, gasping for air.

"Sorry" he sing-songed, "you just have to take the night slow and enjoy it."

"What if he doesn't...enjoy it?" I asked.

"King Edward always enjoys his dances, he will definitely enjoy this one...especially because it is with you" he said.

"Are you sure?" I asked.

"I am positive" he assured me.
