Last chapter...

Death. People die. They live, they love...then they die. But, you never really understand death, until it happens to someone you care about, more importantly, if you watch it happen to them.

I woke up screaming, alone. My head was pounding. I lifted my arm, hissing in pain as another jolt of pain shot through my head. I felt warm liquid running down my fingers. I looked at my hand, and sure enough, it was blood. I gasped, hearing footsteps above me, I furrowed my eyebrows. Where am I? It was dark and cold. I was in the dungeons. How did I get here, what's going on?

I was so confused.

"Hello?" I called, my voice hoarse. "Hello?" I cleared my throat. "Ed?!"

No answer came. I tried to stand up, only to fall back over. I groaned, grabbing onto the cold wall, using as support to help me stand.

When I finally got to my feet, I looked around the empty cells. This was strange, no one was here, but I could hear things going on. The fighting was still going on outside, the last thing I remember is being upstairs with Harry. Then it went all black.

"Ed?" I called, continuing to walk down the hall. I had no idea how to get out of here. "Hello?"

I sighed, looking around, I couldn't see a thing.

"Where am I?" I whispered to myself.

"Kara?" I recognised that voice. I walked over to a cell and pressed myself against it.

"Mum?" I whispered.

"Kara, what are you doing down here?" She asked.

"I don't know," I whispered, "how do I get out?"

"Why should I tell you?" She asked.

"Please?" I whined, I just needed to get back upstairs.

"You're safe down here," my mother said.

"I would be safe up there if it wasn't for you," I mumbled.

"Kara-"

"No, the least you can do is tell me how to get out of here!" I yelled. When she didn't say anything, I sighed.

"Fine, I'll find it by myself," I mumbled.

"It's that way," she pointed to the direction I had just came from.

"How do I know you're not lying?" I asked.

"I'm not, I promise," she said.

I hesitated for a moment before speaking, "thank you."

I slowly started to make my way down the hall, my head still throbbing.

"I'm sorry," I heard her whisper.

"What?" I asked, whipping back to face her.

"I can see you love him," she sighed, "all I've been doing is trying to kill him."
