I don't like writing an introduction chapter, so let's get right into this! Also, disclaimer: I do not own any characters from the DC Universe. But any characters not from DC are my own creations.
Also, that picture is how I picture my character, however you might picture her differently which is great! So tell me how you picture her, I'm curious. :)
Alright let's one thing straight, being a superhero isn't as great as it seems. Just be happy that you are a normal human with a boring life. It's much easier that way. Okay, I guess it has its perks but believe me, it's not as glamorous as it seems.
You may be wondering, How would this loser know what it's like to be a superhero? Well, it's because I am one. No, I'm not from Krypton. And I'm not an Amazonian queen. I am a legendary teenager from Central City. Well maybe not legendary... actually I'm not even considered cool.
My name is Emily, an average girl at Central City High School. How does a geek like me become a crime fighting superhero? Well, here's my story.
~~~~~~~
It all started the day that scientist Harrison Wells's Star Labs was going to turn on his revolutionizing Particle Accelerator.
It was also the first day of my junior year at Central City High School. My day had been pretty laid back and I was walking to my last class, Chemistry. All day I had been looking forward to this one class. I have always loved science. Whether it was astronomy, or plate tectonics, or even the geologic history of the Earth I couldn't stop learning about it. I found Mrs. Lavelle's chemistry lab and took an empty seat. I was one of the first students in the classroom. I absolutely hate being late. I pulled out a book I had brought. It was one of my favorites, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. The classroom filled with conversations as more and more people arrived. The bell rang and I slid my book under my desk.
"I never really liked the Harry Potter books." A voice came from a guy sharing my table who I didn't even notice sit down. I didn't recognize him, he had dark, unstyled brown hair and striking blue eyes. Black glasses sat at the edge of his nose. He wore a baby blue bow tie with a white dress shirt. He definitely stuck out in the class but he didn't seem to care.
Anyway, before I could retort back about how he is missing out by not reading the series the teacher began speaking in the front of the room. She then said the words most students liked to hear.
"Your classmate sitting next to you will be your lab partner for three quarters of the year. The last quarter you can pick if I think you have earned it as a class." After this guy's great first impression I could already tell that we wouldn't get along.
I turned to look at the Harry Potter hater and he looked about as thrilled as I was. Mrs. Lavelle then began to explain our first assignment of the year.
"In the beginning of each year my classes have a small science fair. In order to show what you already know about Chemistry, your project will have to be based around that. The project that I choose to be the best will get 3 extra one hundred percent quiz grades each quarter of the year. For the rest of the class, you will be introducing yourselves to each other and planning out your project. Get to work!" She said cheerfully.
I turned to my partner. "I'm Emily Shaw." I said with a big smile. He, however, already seemed to be planning out the project by himself. "Uh, what's your name?" He didn't even look up from the notes he was taking.
"Lucas," He still hadn't looked up. "Lucas Marshall." And he kept writing.
"So. Lucas, are you going to tell me what you're writing or are you going to do this all on your own?" I didn't mean for it to come out as rude but I felt like it did.
