The next morning I woke up, but something felt different. I reached next to me, where Lucas's head would be but it wasn't. Confused, I sat up and looked around. He never woke up before me, or at least didn't get out of bed before me. Without bothering to put pants on, I ran downstairs. Today was my day to relax according to Lucas and I was starting to get excited. My nose was still stuffy but my cough was getting better.

There, in front of the stove, was Lucas cooking wearing the dinosaur pajama pants that Ainsley had gotten him for Christmas. I snuck up behind him and wrapped my arms around his body from behind. He felt warm from standing over the hot stove. I let go and he turned around. He ran his hand through his messy hair.

"I was going to bring breakfast up to you." He looked disappointed that he couldn't give me a breakfast in bed. I shrugged, but his expression stayed the same. "But you need to be as comfy as possible." I stared at him.

"Do you want me to go back upstairs? Really? Just so you can serve me breakfast in bed?" He nodded. I rolled my eyes and went back upstairs. Laying back down in bed, I turned the TV on.

After a few minutes, he appeared in the doorway. I acted surprised as he walked in carrying a tray of food. "Breakfast in bed? For me?" I asked sarcastically. Lucas set the tray on my lap and laid down next to me. He grinned as I looked at the plate. There was eggs and bacon with some toast and orange juice. I smiled genuinely.

"Thank you, this was really sweet." I said, planting a kiss on his cheek. He blushed and watched me take a bite. It was really yummy and more relaxing eating in bed. Lucas took the remote and flipped through channels. He saw Forensic Files was on and stopped there. I finished my breakfast and Lucas took the empty tray back downstairs. I snuggled up in the blankets as Lucas came back upstairs and into the room. He climbed into bed and looked at me before wrapping his arms around me. It was a simple hug, but I never wanted it to end.

"How do you feel?" He asked pushing away slightly.

"Better, but my nose is still stuffed." I snuggled into his chest, closing my eyes. "What if we just laid here all day?" Lucas chuckled softly.

"Sounds good to me." He pulled me close, twirling my hair in his fingers. I don't remember falling asleep but soon enough, the day was over.

A few days passed, along with my cold. It was a warmer night but I was stuck inside speeding through my homework. Once my mom got home, we'd be leaving for Maddy's chorus concert. She only joined because Mom told her that she needed something to do after school, but she was actually pretty good.

I finished my homework and looked up as Maddy trudged into my room in the dress she had to wear. Her hair was a knotted mess and she had no intention of brushing it.

"Can you do my hair?" She asked sitting on my bed. I nodded and grabbed my brush. I brushed through knot after knot as she dramatically yelled with each stroke. Quickly, I french braided her hair down her back. Maddy looked in the mirror and surprisingly she smiled like she liked it. "Thanks." She said and left my room. I fixed my hair before getting a text from my mom that she was waiting outside. We met her outside and headed to the concert.

Once at the middle school, Maddy found Ivy and left to warm up with the rest of the chorus. Mom and I took a seat in the auditorium.
