The next morning I woke up to hard banging on my door. I mumbled a quiet, "Wha?" And I didn't even get up. My bedroom door swung open.

"Why the hell were you on the news?! And why do you all of a sudden have freaking superpowers?!" I shot up in my bed. An angry Cassidy was standing at the end of my bed glaring at me. Cassidy has been my friend ever since preschool and we were inseparable. Her bright green eyes full of annoyance stared down at waiting for answers.

"You might want to sit down." I warned. I told her everything she missed while she was at her cousin's wedding in California. When I finished she sat with her eyes wide.

"Show me. Your powers, right now." She said this sounding slightly scared like I could explode at any moment. I closed my eyes and concentrated, I could've sworn she stopped breathing. Cassidy reached out and touched my arm. Arm arm shot back as soon as she felt it. "Damn. You're really invisible." I reappeared. "So me and this Marcus kid are the only ones who know."

"It's Lucas, but not exactly. His parents kinda know too." She rolled her eyes, she knew my inability to keep a secret. "But it's okay they are scientists, so they might be able to help."

"You need a suit." Cassidy stood up as I gave her a strange look. "If you are going to be a superhero, you need a suit. Superheroes don't save people in hoodies." She grabbed a notebook from my desk and began sketching.

"I didn't even think about that. It's a good thing we're friends." We giggled. Cassidy loved designing and creating clothes. She is the most creative person I know. I texted Lucas to come to my house because I had some news. I waited while Cass worked away on my outfit.

We heard the doorbell go off so I ran and excitedly grabbed Lucas' arm and ran back to my room. Cassidy waved to Lucas who was catching his breath.

"Who's she?"

"I'm Cassidy Kane, the best friend. And superhero suit designer now." She curtsied and resumed working. Lucas' head whipped towards me.

"You told her?!" He put his head in his hands. "At this rate, all of Central City will know."

"Actually, she knew it was me on the news. So I did not tell her." I said matter-of-factly.

"Fine but what is she doing now?

"Designing my suit." He gave me a look that said right now? I shrugged.

Cassidy ran up to her apartment that was above mine and grabbed her sewing machine and fabric. She returned and immediately began constructing.

"What type of fabric is this?" I asked as I felt it.

"I don't know, but it's whatever Superman and Supergirl use." I raised my eyebrows. The cousins from Krypton were famous on the West Coast for protecting their cities. "I was going to use it for a project in class but I never did. She had different colors of the material, shades of grey, black and white. We narrowed it down to a couple suits. One that I liked and two that Cassidy just really wanted to make. We decided to just hang out all day to work on them so we put on some music, grabbed snacks and had some fun.

The day consisted of Cassidy sewing, Lucas brainstorming ideas for our serum and me dancing. I also helped both of my friends out and kept the spirits high. Cass finished the last suit at around six and she made me try them all on for them. I started with the one I liked. I didn't realize until I put it on that it basically was Supergirl's outfit but grey. It was a dress with a grey long sleeve top and skirt. I didn't want to seem like a Supergirl knockoff. But I opened the door to the closet and stepped out.
