Emily
"This Trickster streamed his message to every device in Central City. I can't track his location because he put up some impossible security." Lucas slumped in his chair. He wasn't used to someone better than him.
"He sounds familiar. The Trickster." I knew I heard that name before this. Then it hit me. "Oh right. Ten-ish years ago there were terror attacks all over Central City for a week. Like fifteen people died." Lucas pulled up a picture.
"James Jesse. Our Trickster must be a copycat." Lucas said. I looked at the time on my phone. 7:13
"Well I better get home. I'll patrol later if I can. Text me if you find anything." I grabbed my coat and slipped on my boots.
"It's probably pretty slippery out, be careful." I nodded and walked upstairs.
"Bye! Stay safe." I said as Mrs. Marshall gave me a hug, I didn't see Mr. Marshall and figured he was at work. I ran out the door and ran home in the snowy streets.
I got home and changed into comfy clothes. As soon as I turned on the TV the Trickster appeared. He was once again in his checkered mask but this time he stood in front of a crate.
"I've got a bomb. A big bomb. That'll make a big boom and a big hole." His voice was eerily taunting and just downright creepy. Pressed the button on my earring. I called for Lucas. "But the Trickster isn't unfair. The bomb is somewhere between 22nd street and Avenue B."
"Lucas! You saw that?" My heart raced. I put my suit on quick and ran outside.
"Yeah, but I couldn't track it again. I'll keep trying." I went invisible and ran to 22nd street. For almost 20 minutes I ran through buildings, streets and anywhere possible.
"Lucas, anything?" I ran down street after street looking for the bomb.
"No, but I almost have it. Give me a minute." The cold winter wind blew on my face as people passed me on the sidewalk. "Got it! It's inside an abandoned warehouse on Franklin Street."
"Why do criminals always hide in abandoned warehouses? They wouldn't be-" My thought was interrupted by Lucas.
"Emily!"
I ran to the warehouse where I found the same box was from the video. I slowly opened it up. Inside the crate was nothing. Just two words painted on the top.

While the entire police department and I went on a wild goose chase the Copy Cat Trickster broke the original trickster, James Jesse out of jail. My mom texted me and told me she would be home late because of all of the Trickster stuff. I got home and tried to go to sleep. But I couldn't. So I decided to FaceTime Lucas. It rang until his face showed up on my phone.
"What do you want?" He asked groggily.
"I can't sleep."
"You woke me up for that? You're not dying or anything?" He reached behind him for his glasses.
"Fine, go back to sleep. I'll text you tomorrow." I sighed. This version of Lucas reminded me much of the first one I had met.
