After realizing how late it actually was I poked Emily until she was slightly more awake. She tossed and turned but didn't get up. I groaned and carefully slid out from under her. Her body slumped over on its side, making me laugh.

"Emily, come on." I whined quietly, her head was just barely shaking. And in a few seconds she was back asleep. After I realized she wasn't getting up I bent over and picked her up bridal style. Luckily I have a small friend who only weighs about 120 pounds. I thought she was back in a deep sleep but her arms wrapped around my neck and she nestled her face into my shirt. I could've stood there forever adoring this peaceful version of my friend but she was starting to feel heavier.

I brought her upstairs to my room and set her in my bed. I took off her glasses and set the on my nightstand. Without her glasses Emily is usually fighting a metahuman or something but now she slept peacefully without worrying that someone is in danger. She snuggled up in the blankets and I pulled the extra mattress from under the bed. I set it next to my desk. Without even making my bed I grabbed my fuzzy blanket and a pillow. I set my glasses next to Emily's and fell straight asleep.

Emily

Sunlight shined brightly through my eyelids but because of my powers I can pretty much stare into the sun so it didn't really bother me. Though it did wake me up. I turned on my side but I didn't see my grey walls, they were a deep blue. I looked at the green plaid blankets I was under. Where was I? Then I turned on my other side and saw a figure sleeping on a mattress. I squinted to try figure out the blurry person without my glasses. After noticing my glasses on the nightstand next to me I could see again. Everything was clear now, I was in Lucas' room. My heart raced, he had found a serum the night before to stop Everyman.

Finally after scrolling through instagram Lucas began to stir in his sleep. His eyes opened and he yawned while stretching.

"Good morning." He said groggily running his hand through his hair. "How long have you been up?"

"Half an hour. I was waiting for you to get up." I sat up with my legs hanging over the edge of the bed. "I'm starving."

"Humans can survive three weeks without food. You haven't eaten in sixteen hours, therefore you are not starving. Just hungry." He stood up and put his glasses on.

"Nerd."

It was already nine thirty so we headed downstairs to make breakfast. On the Kitchen counter was a note that said, Had to go into the lab. Look after Ainsley. Call us if you need anything. -Mom <3.

"What do you want for breakfast?" I shrugged looking through the massive kitchen. I gasped.

"Waffles! I memorized my grandma's old recipe." I exclaimed jumping up and down. Lucas rolled his eyes at my immaturity and got out all of the ingredients. I was about to begin measuring out flour when my friend stopped me.

"We can't cook the world's best waffles without aprons." He threw a wadded up grey apron at me. I tied it around my waist and Lucas tied it around my neck. I turned around and he smiled. "It matches your eyes." My eyes must've been a stormy grey that day. Sometimes they were bluer, or greener, but most of the time they stayed an intense shade of grey.

We started throwing ingredients into a bowl according to my memory of the recipe. Lucas was mixing the batter when some flew out of the bowl and on to my face.

"Hey!" I stuck my finger in the bowl and flung some at him. It landed on his neck and he smirked. He pulled the spoon out of the bowl and pressed it to my cheek. The cold batter made my cheek tingle as I laughed. I stole the spoon and flung a glob at his face. Lucas tried to shield himself but batter dripped from his nose. Before he could strike back we heard small feet pattering from down the hall. Ainsley appeared next to the counter and giggled at us.
